Job Description

Role details

Since its foundation in 2007 It’s Nice That has become a trusted source of inspiration, championing the best of creativity online, in print and through our events. Winner of the Webby Award for Best Cultural Website 2020, we are a leading platform in the creative world reaching over 2.5 million people each month across our channels.

This is an exciting opportunity for those who have a genuine passion for the creative industry, and a great understanding of the role social video plays within digital publishing and driving engagement with creative communities. The role reports into the Social Media Manager within the It’s Nice That digital team, and you’ll work closely with the creative team to develop your creative skill sets too.

Job purpose

Work closely with the Social Media Manager to produce and deliver social first content across It’s Nice That’s channels including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.

Support in feeding social video strategies and ideas into larger campaigns across It's Nice That channels, working with PM, creative and editorial teams to ensure successful results.

Research and deliver social video content based on channel trends, as well as feeding into our long-term audience strategy plans.

You

Demonstrated experience in producing and editing video content across social media channels.

Experience in making video in-app, particularly focussed on TikTok or Instagram Reels.

Experience working with visual identities and motion design elements used in video.

Proven skill sets in using video editing software alongside other essential Adobe CC suite programs.

An excellent understanding of social media trends and content formats which drive engagement across platforms.

A good understanding of media companies or brands and how they operate successfully on social media channels.

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and bring ideas to the table. Your content ideas will be as valued as your ability to produce content effectively.

A respect for creative culture, the power of great ideas, and how creativity can enable people to thrive.

Experience hosting / presenting on social media channels would be a bonus but not mandatory.

Key Tasks

Producing and editing social video in line with It’s Nice That’s platform plans across the year. This will include storyboarding ideas to send to collaborators, collecting video content, and then editing into a finished product.

Developing ideas and editing video content for select commercial campaigns which focus on social first strategies.

Researching and strategising video long-term content ideas alongside Social Media Manager.

Establishing processes and effective workflow plans to ensure content is delivered efficiently and on schedule. This is a new role with It’s Nice That so you’ll have autonomy and support in developing effective ways to work.

Working effectively alongside project managers, art directors, digital and editorial team members - your role will be supported and enhanced by collaborating with the wider team to help deliver impactful ideas.

Reporting on effective techniques and creative approaches to video to feed into the wider business, developing clear ways to deliver insights.

Support on delivering social content for It's Nice That projects including Nicer Tuesday's, the It's Nice That Podcast and our membership platform Extra Nice.
