Job Description

ABOUT EARTHED

Earthed is a charity that unites people in positive, nature-centred solutions. We exist for anyone who wants to restore the air we breathe, water we drink and land we farm. On the platform, members donate what they feel to learn practical skills from nature teachers, connect with a global community learning to grow, celebrate traditional knowledge and those who hold it and take part in activities across many topics and terrains.

Members’ monthly donations go to supporting the Earthed teachers and their restoration projects; the creation of important new nature skills courses; an action fund to support and scale restoration projects around the world; and the ongoing development of Earthed where we hold accessibility and community at our core.

In essence, we are removing obstacles to regeneration whilst leveraging the knowledge economy to enable grass-roots and diverse ecosystem restoration projects.

By 2032, Earthed aims to have enabled millions of people to participate in the global ecosystem restoration movement.

[Earthed is part of Initiative Earth, a UK Registered Charity, 1192512]

ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: Remote working as desired but with the opportunity to co-work in London (Soho Works)

Background: Graphic design, video editing, social media management, content creation, production, education, marketing, community management, communications, nature, biodiversity.

Remuneration: £150-£160 per day

Start date: Mid-August or September

Contract: Initial part-time (3 days per week) on a 6-month freelance contract with the opportunity to continue working with us and becoming a full time employee.

Earthed is at an exciting stage of it's life. After 18 months of development the platform finally soft launched in June 2023! This is our debut year and we are seeking a creative, dynamic and experienced digital content designer & manager to work with us as we grow into our full potential! This person will be responsible for creating and managing engaging and educational content for a range of channels including Instagram, Tiktok, and our nature skills platform.

The role requires a passion for nature regeneration, and the ability to develop engaging communications that inspire and empower.

This role encompasses digital content design for video and static images: researching and developing educational social media campaigns, creating captivating content through video edits and graphics (or delegating to external designers and editors). A killer design eye and sharp technical skills are crucial. Digital content creation will include creation of video assets using software such as Premier Pro, designing social media posts in Canva or Photoshop, and possibly creating blog posts.

We’re seeking someone who is able to work autonomously, whilst collaborating with our dynamic team. A successful candidate will have proven experience leading campaigns from conception to design and implementation.

This role will also be instrumental in the development of a thriving digital community through social media channels and Earthed’s community platform. Content management is key - ensuring the strategic distribution of content in line with the marketing strategy, using social planning software, whilst maintaining audience engagement and fostering conversation.

All Earthed roles require a can-do, roll your sleeves up attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively with a small but mighty team. Therefore good organization, time management and communication is essential.
