Job Description

About ZEALOT

ZEALOT is a global creative agency with offices in London, New York, and Los Angeles, specialising in the film and television industry. We create trailers, TV spots, digital/social campaigns, promos, and striking key art for some of the world’s biggest names in entertainment.

We are seeking an Art Director to join our Key Art team in London. This is a senior creative leadership role for someone with a strong design foundation, strategic thinking, a refined creative eye, and extensive experience crafting bold, beautiful visuals for the film and TV space.

About the Role

Reporting into the Creative Director, the Art Director will lead the visual development of key art campaigns across print, digital, and OOH platforms. You’ll work on large-scale, high-profile projects from brief to delivery, bringing big ideas to life and shaping the look and feel of our most important campaigns.

You’ll lead a team of talented designers, mentor junior creatives, and play an active role in concepting, designing, presenting, and producing pitch and shoot decks. Your industry experience will also help identify talent, grow relationships with clients, photographers and collaborators - supporting the expansion of ZEALOT’s creative reach.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the creative execution of key art campaigns for film and television clients.
  • Lead the concepting and design of poster artwork, visual identities, and supporting assets.
  • Guide the team through every stage - from pitch and moodboarding through to production and delivery.
  • Translate client briefs into clear, compelling visual strategies that balance originality and commercial impact.
  • Build and present photography/shoot decks with a strong eye for casting, composition, tone, and reference.
  • Provide daily creative leadership, feedback, and mentorship to junior and mid-level designers.
  • Maintain visual consistency, craft excellence, and alignment across all touchpoints.
  • Present confidently to clients and internal stakeholders, articulating creative rationale and vision.
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, Designers, and Producers to ensure cohesion across campaign elements.
  • Recommend and connect the studio with trusted freelance creatives, illustrators, and photographers.
  • Support new business pitches and creative development for incoming projects.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 6 - 8+ years of design experience within entertainment, media, or an agency, with at least 2+ years in a lead or art director role.
  • Brings strong industry relationships and a proven ability to attract or contribute to new business opportunities.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing bold, conceptual key art work across genres and formats.
  • Proven experience leading large campaigns for major film, TV, or streaming clients.
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, layout, composition, and typography.
  • Extensive experience developing shoot/photography decks and art directing visual concepts for key art shoots.
  • Skilled in mentoring and guiding creative teams, able to inspire, elevate, and unify.
  • Highly confident in client-facing situations with strong presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple creative timelines and priorities.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  • Well-connected within the creative industry and proactive in bringing in strong freelance talent.
  • Passionate about film, TV, visual culture, and design innovation.

Benefits Include:

  • Hybrid working (up to 2 days remote per week after onboarding)
  • Generous lieu day policy for occasional late working
  • Regular training opportunities for career growth
  • Access to Headspace for meditation and mindfulness
  • Confidential mental health support via Solas Mind
