Job Description

Established in 2007, The Jacky Winter Group is an artist agency and production studio with offices in London, New York and Melbourne.

Representing over a hundred commercial artists working across a diverse range of specialised branches and partnerships, we solicit and produce thousands of creative briefs a year ranging from illustration and activations, to animation and special projects, catering primarily to advertising agencies, brands, publishers, and design studios.

Following the establishment of the UK office in March 2021, we are seeking an Agent & Producer to support this period of growth for our operations in Europe.

As part of our core production team you will work closely alongside all other members of the Jacky Winter staff, including our Australian and American office, and directly with our represented talent and most valued clients.

This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday from 9.30–5.30pm GMT with overtime as reasonably required.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement with two days a week spent at the Exchange co-working space at Somerset House in central London, and three days working remotely. Due to this, and the need to attend regular client meetings and events, it’s important that the applicant is located in, or close to, London.

About the Job

Working at Jacky Winter is a unique experience which requires an equally unique and dedicated individual. Each day presents new opportunities to work with some of the most forward thinking creatives, businesses, and brands; acting as one of the driving forces in the creative process, bringing to life ideas and stories of all shapes and sizes.

This is primarily a production and business development position which requires relevant interest and experience, ideally within the advertising or creative industries. While we are responsible for a lot of creative work, and deeply value the inherent creative nature of being producers, the nature of our work can often be highly sales focused, relationship driven and administrative.

Due to potential conflicts of interest, this position is also not suitable for anyone with an active or emerging freelance illustration practice, however anyone looking to further a career in commercial creative management is welcome to apply.

Your responsibilities will include the finding, making, and synthesizing of new creative briefs. With work ranging from quick-turnaround editorial commissions and above-the-line advertising campaigns, to live murals and installations, no two days at Jacky Winter are alike.

Requirements

Whether you have existing production or agenting experience in digital artwork or animation, or you are looking to expand your existing skills in studio administration or account management, we welcome enquiries from qualified applicants with three to five years experience within the creative industry.

As a niche business we realise that there is no specific training or career path for this role, and we value our incredibly diverse team which has been assembled from a variety of different professional backgrounds. With your strong core competencies in communication, client outreach and relationship building, combined with a healthy curiosity and passion for the arts, you will work closely with the entire team to develop your skills as a trusted advisor and enthusiastic cheerleader for our artists.

You will utilise your exceptional written and verbal communication skills in combination with the full range of the agency’s resources to become a valued asset to all involved on a project, being not only the calm and rock-solid foundation that keeps a project moving from start to finish, but also a creative thinker in terms of contributing your own ideas and systems to the mix to offer solutions and find opportunities in any given situation.

As an agent, you will act as the ambassador of the agency, identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities, and growing and strengthening our existing client base in Europe by maintaining an in-depth knowledge of both the current and future state of the industry combined with a thorough understanding of the capabilities of both the agency and our represented talent and industry partners. Your role will involve assisting with the development of strategic plans to strengthen The Jacky Winter Group’s position in the marketplace.

You thrive on the challenge and energy of balancing anywhere from 15–30 projects or enquiries at a time, quickly adapting to our internal digital tools to ensure that logistical and creative expectations are being met on both sides of the creative equation.

If you are someone who takes pleasure from helping others achieve their vision, thrives on creating order out of chaos, and looking for an opportunity to be the face and voice of our business in a highly respected and valued role, then we want to hear from you.

General skills required:

  • Experience managing multiple projects or tasks; demonstrated ability to prioritise and traffic multiple tasks as needed.
  • Knowledge of the UK creative industries. Existing networks and contacts within the worlds of advertising and design are beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge and appreciation for our current represented artists.
  • Solid decision making ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellence in communication, listening and presentation skills.
  • Excellence in time management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic foundation and competency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Bridge, Acrobat, Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop), and the ability and interest to continue developing skills and expertise on the platform.
  • Knowledge or experience with Animation or 3D workflows are beneficial, but not required.
  • Previous new business development or sales experience is extremely beneficial.

Mandatories

  • Three to five years experience in an agent, producer, project management or arts management focused role in the advertising or commercial creative industries.
  • Legal status to work in the United Kingdom
  • Proficiency in the MacOS and iOS operating systems.
  • A demonstrated and active passion for visual art and/or the strange and wonderful world of advertising.
  • Cool as a cucumber, with a passion for networking.

Benefits

In addition to an annual salary which will be determined by experience + commission, we also offer 22 days of annual leave + public holidays, flexible working arrangements, regular training and professional development, opportunities for local and international travel, and more.

The largest benefit however is being part of a truly supportive team. While we work primarily with the advertising and design industries, we don't work *inside* them as such, and ensuring all staff are able to sustain a healthy work/life balance is of paramount importance. As a relatively small and close-knit team we place enormous value on creating a sustainable, inclusive, and friendly culture which revolves around our core values of kindness and creativity.

We also regularly seek opportunities to donate our time and services and to support socially progressive clients and causes and support all staff to do the same.

The Jacky Winter Group is an equal opportunity employer. We value inclusivity both in our workforce as well as the artists we represent.
