Studio Assistant
Job Description
Studio Egret West is a multi-disciplinary practice of 66 urban designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, and model makers working on a range of mixed-use, place-making projects. We are looking for an amazing and enthusiastic studio assistant to join our award-winning architecture practice and showroom in Clerkenwell. People are key to Studio Egret West and your days will never be the same here. The successful candidate will be working in unison with the studio manager and ensure that the day-to-day activities of the studio and showroom run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- be the first point of contact for clients and guests
- answering all incoming calls
- make and serve coffee/tea for meetings etc.
- monitor the 'hello' email account and make sure that any relevant emails get passed on to the appropriate member of staff
- organise daily post, incoming and outgoing
- booking travel including international flights and accommodation
- manage the stationary supply and make sure we are always stocked up with paper, pens, etc.
- ordering weekly groceries and responsible for ensuring supplies are topped up
- making sure that the studio is always presentable and kept tidy
- order lunches for CPD's etc.
- help organise events such as talks and exhibitions
- assist the studio manager with HR management such as holiday approvals as well as monitoring people’s sick days
- managing meeting bookings through a calendar system
- booking taxis and signing for and organising all courier deliveries
- maintain photocopiers/printers/ including monitoring supplies
- ordering lunches for large meetings
- ordering weekly cleaners supplies and responsible for ensuring supplies are topped up
- general maintenance of the office including organising repairs
- recycling and driving an environmentally friendly approach to office and ordering recycling bags
- help maintain the studio facilities
- assist with organising staff events such as studio trips abroad, nights out, and SEW and tell
This is a junior position and this role is perfect for a confident, bubbly, articulate, and hardworking individual looking to gain valuable experience, working in a fast-paced and highly creative environment. You must have excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner. Experience in using Microsoft and Adobe software is desirable.
