Graphics and Communications Coordinator
Job Description
Gort Scott is an architecture and urban design practice with a focus on how buildings and places create the setting for connections between people. We are attuned to working and thinking at different scales, from one-off houses to planning pieces of city and in both the public and private sectors. We are inspired by the contexts in which we work and develop propositions that resonate with them.

The role
This role is key to developing the profile of the practice through the creation of high-quality online and offline communication materials, reports, presentations and other documents. You will work with others and support a wide range of activities across the practice, including tenders, bids and competitions. You will also support the practice to develop a robust and coherent brand and image library.
Key responsibilities
Graphic Design
- Work on projects for both digital and print media, providing creative solutions in line with requirements and in-house style.
- Source and edit images including optimisation, colour correction, isolating, resizing and retouching.
- Co-ordinate collation of content from both internal and external resources as required.
- Create digital assets such as all website/online banners, GIFs, basic video editing, social media content, e-shots and PDFs.
- Maintain and update practice templates, image library and other shared graphic content.
- Maintain and update the practice website.
- Support with internal documentation such as office templates, policy documents and practice handbook.
- Deliver projects within tight timeframes that meet practice standards.
Supporting the New Business + Communications Manager
- Implement the practice’s marketing and new business goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and implement of social media strategy.
- Coordinate press requests, press releases & award submissions internally, including arranging photoshoots, selecting images and drawings and editing content.
- Produce PR material for new business opportunities e.g. portfolios, presentations, job sheets, CVs.
- Development content for individual project communications strategies.
- Maintain and update tender/bid data, including staff CVs, standard texts and images, policies etc. to ensure relevant information is available to support the production of competitions and bids.
- Proofreading/editing content when required.
Skills required
- Degree in Graphic Design or similar preferable
- A portfolio with examples of design work
- Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suit, including Photoshop, Illustrator. iMovie and Adobe Premiere a benefit but not essential
- Experience working with social media beneficial but not essential
- Solid communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willing to put forward ideas, ask questions and work both on your own as well as within a team
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
- And interest in Architecture and the built environment.
