Job Description

The role

Eat, sleep, love making films and telling stories?

Can you tell stories that captivate audiences and leave them wanting more? Are you a visionary creative passionate about telling stories in long and short-form films and videos? Are you hungry for your next move and what to take your career to the next level? Then look no further. We’re looking for a Content Creator who lives and breathes film to join our close-knit team.

We’re focused on demystifying the creative industry by being more transparent and open-source to inspire the next generation of creatives. We see this exciting role as essential in expanding our ability to film and tell long-form stories that feature our team and creatives across the world.

Who we are

DixonBaxi is a group of people who make beautiful, original brands that change the world for the better. We’re fuelled by creativity and reject convention. We are trusted by some of the world’s most interesting companies, including Hulu, Audible, AT&T, ITV X, British Land, IMAX, Konami, Channel 4, Eurosport, Netflix and AC Milan. Brands that seek to be brave and challenge convention.

We partner with brands and in-house creative teams across the world from our London studio. We seek revolution rather than evolution and embrace change to remain fiercely original.

What we believe

Great design is born of difference; we constantly seek new perspectives and identities to build our team. We’re a vibrant, eclectic, open group of people from Seattle, Lagos, New Zealand and everywhere in between, which makes for a rich environment full of ideas.

DixonBaxi is a place of growth. A positive and diverse culture makes us all do great things. The creative studio atmosphere allows everyone to develop new skills, try new things and never settle. We are open-minded and adapt to new ways of working or thinking constantly. We foster access, opportunity and success for everyone

Our studio home is based in London (N1), and we come together at least 3 days a week to enjoy the space, collaborate and time together. Studio time and our wonderful surroundings are very important for creativity to thrive. Working together enables us to approach new ideas and inventions creatively and to enjoy the journey.

We care about the team and always look for new ways of working and supporting each other. Our 4.5-day week is a good example, and Friday lunches - the weekly thank you!

Our benefits include Mental Health Support, gym membership discounts and a cycle-to-work scheme. We encourage travel overseas to meet our clients and embrace the opportunity to do things together (like our Barcelona trip to the OFFF conference last year).

As for the fun stuff - we come together every Wednesday to celebrate projects, birthdays and workiversaries. There is the opportunity for each person to shout out thanks to other team members.

Who you are

You’re passionate about making long-form films and narratives, as much as short, engaging soundbites. You already excel and are fluent at designing, shooting and editing compelling, immersive and stylish content. You have a natural ability to pick up a camera and capture moments, with a director's keen eye for composition, framing and sense of story.

You’re fired up about what you do because you believe you can change the world for the better. You’re a self-starter who can work independently as well as collaborate with our team. You are driven and enthusiastic, with at least two years of experience that demonstrate your love of film, creating and just making your ideas a reality. You understand the essentials of your craft and aren't afraid to wield them bravely.

What you do

These are just some skills we would expect a Content Creator to have. Brilliance comes in many forms, though; our minds are always open.

You are proactive and always have a camera in hand to shoot, capturing moments and stories.

You’re a natural when it comes to filming and adept in using an iphone to a DSLR and beyond.

You have the confidence and flair to take an idea from the early stages of script, storyboard, through to shooting, with an eye for stylish art direction, post-production and inventive ways to tell stories.

You are fluent in Premiere Pro, Lightroom and After Effects and can use those tools to bring emotion, energy, insight and make engaging narratives.

You’re a wizard in video editing and post production with knowledge of grading and mixing audio.

You are driven to find solutions to exciting problems. And recognise that challenges can often be opportunities.

You’re up for travelling and capturing life on the move, studios life and culture, interviews and more. Ready with a camera for reportage style shoots to simple, but stylish studio set-ups.

You’ll be responsible for the kit and its use.

What we’d love to see

Examples of the stories you’ve made - short or long-form or anything in between. It’s more about you, your energy and your excitement for creating and making than a specific project. Although we’d love to see how you make and film your stories and what makes them engaging.
