Job Description

For most of us buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial decisions we will ever make, and yet estate agents are one of the UKs least trusted professions (17 points worse than bankers according to a 2020 IPSOS Survey). Nested was founded because we were tired of putting up with a broken and frankly antiquated way of buying and selling homes. That’s why we’re committed to bringing transparency and clarity to an otherwise opaque market.

We’ve built industry leading tools and products that open a window on the home selling process. We’re partnering with like minded agents across the country that believe in our mission. We’re ready to grow fast in 2022 and we need to make sure our brand and tone of voice are ready to scale alongside the rest of the organisation.

We’re searching for a Digital Designer who can have a big impact on a small but growing design function. We need somebody who is as excited to learn and develop as they are to revolutionise the way we buy and sell homes.

The Role

On a day-to-day basis you will...

  • Work with design and marketing to deliver content that will inform and excite our customers about their home sale, and educate them on the house buying and selling process - delivering real value.
  • Design and produce the materials we share with customers, from banner ads to billboards and everything in between.
  • Make sure our brand and tone of voice are consistent throughout the organisation, including working with our partner agents to educate them about the brand vision.
  • Help document and expand on our visual language to ensure a consistent and beautiful brand experience for our customers.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business and understand their goals and concerns.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback to and from your peers and others across the organisation to grow as a design practitioner.

About you

  • You are able to justify and articulate your design decisions and strive to do so in clear and simple terms that others will understand.
  • You are eager to work alongside your team and other stakeholders across the organisation to achieve business goals.
  • You are able to check your ego at the door and ask for help when you need it.
  • You feel at home when designing with Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop but are curious to use other tools and processes if it helps to express your intentions.
  • You enjoy working in a scrappy start-up environment where your skills can be applied to any and all aspects of the business.

Nice to haves

  • Experience creating animated assets and working with tools like After Effects.
  • Experience working with video and working with tools like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
  • Experience designing for print media and working with tools like InDesign.

Benefits

  • Salary between £35k and £45k per annum based on experience.
  • Generous options grant with further options awarded at reviews depending on performance.
  • 4% employer pension contribution.
  • Private health insurance with gym discounts & more.
  • 27 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Flexible working hours and opportunity to work from home, although we’d love to see you in our Farringdon office a couple of days a week!
  • £1,000 personal development budget per year.
  • Generous maternity package, 16 full weeks pay.
  • Generous paternity package, 4 weeks full pay.
  • Should these packages not suit you, we are happy to discuss alternatives.
  • Monthly team social events.
  • Plus, if you’re ever buying or selling a home, we're pretty good at that as well and employees get it at a discount.

Nested is proud to be an equal opportunities employer

At Nested we embrace diversity and see it as a benefit to our company. That's why we're committed to hiring top talent regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or status as an individual with a disability.

We’re a growing team and happy to make any accommodations we can for individual needs. If you have an additional accessibility or other requirement we haven’t considered, we will do our best to adapt and make sure your needs are met.

We are striving to build an inclusive team, but we recognise there is always more to be done. In the last year, we’ve focussed on running workshops in collaboration with tech bootcamps, promoting self-education through our anti-racism reading list, and building diversity into our growth frameworks. If you would like to talk to us about these efforts, or have suggestions for how we can do better, we would love to hear from you.
