Hue & Cry is a Creative & Communications agency, based in London and New York. We exist to cause a stir in food, drink, and travel, by making brands impossible to ignore. We are currently seeking a highly talented Junior with a can-do attitude to join our creative team and contribute to our exciting projects as we continue to grow as an agency.

The Junior Designer is the engine at the heart of the creative team that brings imagination, inspiration and energy to each and every project challenge. You will design and craft beautiful, memorable experiences and communications across a diverse range of clients across print, motion, digital, social and experiential.

As a Junior Designer you will generate visually appealing and effective design solutions, innovative concepts and ideas, expand upon and roll out brand and campaign concepts generated by your teammates in a collaborative manner that fits the brief.

Generate inspirational and actionable creative ideas and concepts.

Evolve ideas and be able to visualise them to bring these ideas to life in the real world with client asset toolkits and brand guidelines.

• Be able to work across channels to help with story telling in pitches or client work such as editing clip videos or mocking up visuals.

Demonstrate a constant curiosity to explore new ideas and absorb visual and cultural trends, deploying them in fresh, new and exciting ways.

Demonstrate a thoughtful approach to project challenges ensuring all work has a simple and clear rationale.

Take ownership of designated projects from inception to completion ensuring they’re delivered on brief and time.

To take pride in your work ensuring it’s immaculately produced with the highest attention to detail and craftmanship.

Look for opportunities for communicating sustainability and areas that can help clients lessen their planetary impact.

KEY COMPETENCIES

What do you need to be competent at to do this role:

• To be proficient in the use of all the usual design packages, Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Premiere/After Effects, XD/Figma (3D is a bonus)

• To be naturally curious and bring new ideas and inspiration to your work and the wider creative team by demonstrating that you’re plugged into contemporary culture, always inspiring your clients and wider agency team with viewpoints from the wider world that helps create an environment where ideas and creative exploration is encouraged and celebrated.

Ability to multi-task and an enduring commitment to timelines and deadlines. Demonstrate good organisational and problem-solving skills.

• A knowledge of print, experiential and digital production practices and techniques.

• Possible experience in FMCG’s, On & off trade environments as well as a variety of other industry sectors.

• To be a compelling communicator and storyteller, with an ability to present creative in a simple and motivating way.

SECONDARY FUNCTION

Collaborate with the team, inspiring them to develop visual concepts and create relevant assets that are second to none.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and content creators, to ensure design aligns with the overall brand and project goals.

Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative design ideas to meet project objectives.

Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and software, and implement best practices in your work.

Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all design deliverables before and into final production, artworking, publication or handover.

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain organized project files.
