Our story so far

WHO WE ARE

Weirdo is an independent agency founded in 2020 by Louis Persent and Michelle Yeadon. Our aim is to make creative advertising that’s inclusive, representative and shakes up an industry that’s become too safe and predictable.

We work with clients such as Arsenal, Nike and Gymshark.

‍We are passionate advocates for fairness and equality in advertising and our own experiences have made us resolute in our efforts to build a more responsible and respectful kind of creative company. Our team delivers campaigns, content production, design, branding, strategies, media planning, testing and measurement alongside co-creation with our diverse network.

The role

RESPONSIBILITIES

We’re growing fast and are open to applicants looking for a full-time or part-time role. We're open to those mid-level experience ready to step up, or established senior designers.

These are the main things you’ll need to do, across a few of our clients:

• Work with the founders closely
• Bring campaigns and content to life through motion design
• Art direct motion and video projects
• Prepare and pitch compelling presentations
• Oversee a growing design team, guiding and educating junior colleagues
• Protect the highest quality of craft across all motion and video creative
• Produce stills and motion assets
• Attend and direct on set (if relevant)
• Liaise with third parties and suppliers as relevant
• Push the quality of our design work forward

We’re a startup, so you’ll be expected to help out with other things as well, such as:

• Project management and production support
• Representing Weirdo at events
• Bringing new ideas and building on existing ones

Required skills and experience

• AfterEffects, Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop critical, Blender/Cinema4D nice to haves
• A varied portfolio showcasing a love for animation and strong knowledge of type and layout
• Ambitious in approach and hungry to push every detail
• Proven attention to detail, especially with type and layout
• Expert understanding technical foundations of animation and motion
• An endless curiosity for culture and people
• Comfortable with tools like Google Docs, Powerpoint, Keynote
• Organised and rigorous
• Works independently
• Enjoys learning new things and teaching others

Other stuff

We can only hire people with the right to work in the UK.

All team members get 25 days holiday per year (pro rata for part-time roles).

You can work flexibly and from home, but you can also come into the office during weekdays (we’re based in Clerkenwell, London).

You can bring a dog to the office if you have one and it follows the office rules.
