Intro
Zero Gravity is an award-winning tech startup that propels students from low-income backgrounds into the UK’s best universities and careers.
Zero Gravity was originally launched by our founder, Joe Seddon, from his student bedroom. Since then Zero Gravity has scaled to become one of the UK’s biggest social mobility organisations.
Last year, Zero Gravity mentored 1,000+ students from low-income backgrounds into top universities, including over 261 low-income students into Oxbridge since launch. Zero Gravity is now on course to mentor 10,000+ students per year by 2023.
Description
As our first product designer, you’ll work cross-functionally on new & existing products, ensuring that our designs are always user-centric and driving business value.
You'll own all aspects of the design process to create delightful user experiences and brand-led visual designs that help us achieve ambitious product goals.
You'll join user research sessions to experiment with different designs to validate assumptions and ensure we’re always building the right products for our users.
You'll work collaboratively with our product manager and engineering team to explore the problem space, shape solutions and support delivery.
You'll play an important role in a highly ambitious and outcome driven product team, suggesting and implementing new ways of working to streamline our processes and deliver value for the business.
Requirements
Ambitious: You have some experience as a product designer, whether freelancing, working in an agency or as part of a product-led organisation. You’re now ready to accelerate your career at a high-growth startup.
Versatile: As our first product designer, you'll be a jack of all trades. You should be comfortable with everything from designing the UX to thinking about the brand to designing icons.
Creative: You have a well-trained eye for brand-led visual design and know how to create beautifully branded products with different design tools.
User-centric: You put the user at the forefront of all your designs and you're comfortable with user research. You can quickly produce prototypes to validate assumptions and experiment with different solutions.
