ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Marketing Lead at Message Heard, first and foremost, you must have a passion for marketing and building the Message Heard business and brand. We are a small start-up with big ambitions, and we want you to share that vision with us.

It will be your role to drive and execution marketing strategy, planning and reporting for the business. The delivery of this work will be supported by the MH team and a cast of external providers and freelancers which you will source and manage.

A key part of your role is to work closely with sales to grow the business. You will also liaise with production to ensure that marketing is integrated into what the business creates, rather than being forgotten or an afterthought.

This full-time role requires you to lead and drive marketing for Branded, Originals and Co-Productions, as well as build the MH brand.

For Branded, you are responsible for delivering quality leads to the Sales function. You will develop and drive the marketing strategy, execute the plan against budget, and report on results each week. This will cover a combination of paid and organic activities including PPC, Social Advertising, SEO, content marketing, email marketing, PR and events. You will also work with the Sales function to support the delivery of briefs & proposals. As the business sells Marketing Services to clients for their shows, you will lead delivery, supported by external providers/freelancers, as required.

For Originals, you are responsible for developing the brand of the podcasts, taking shows to market, growing audiences, measuring performance against KPIs and using this to drive an iterative approach across the team. You will also develop the marketing content to support Advertising and Sponsorship sales, including web and SEO content, and pitch materials.

You are also an advocate for MH brand values and voice during the pitching and greenlighting process for MH Originals, Co-Productions and Commissions.

You are also responsible for growing the over-arching Message Heard brand and awareness thereof. As such, you are responsible for the website and external social channels, as well as promoting the organisation through award entries, PR and promoting thought-leadership from the business’ leaders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing, executing and reporting on a successful marketing strategy for the Branded Business

• Developing, executing and reporting on successful marketing strategies for eacH Originals show – and, as required, each Co-Production

• Providing marketing input on all sales briefs & proposals, helping MH to reach and exceed its targets

• Providing marketing input on revenue generating projects e.g. discovery workshops and consultancy reports

• Contributing to the development and success of MH’s strategic vision

• Creating marketing structures and processes, and generating buy-in across the business

• Running all projects and programmes efficiently and effectively, so that they come in on time and under budget

• Managing and updating brand touch points including the website and social media channels

• Building a network of reliable freelancers and providers, and managing those relationships

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working across the lifecycle of marketing campaigns

• Well-rounded experience in building brands, businesses and audiences

• Broad spectrum marketing skills from: content marketing, thought leadership, copywriting and editorial skills; to PPC, Social Advertising, SEO; to email marketing; to PR and events

• Data-driven mindset - comfortable interpreting analytics data including Google Anayltics

• Experienced advocating for marketing in an organisation and working in multidisciplinary teams

• Solid organisational and project/programme management skills

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deadline

• Excellent budget creation and control skills

• Experience using a CMS preferably Squarespace

• At ease in early stage start-ups

• Comfortable working independently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in B2B communications, ideally for an agency

• Experience in B2C communications

• A demonstrable passion for podcasting

● This role is full-time and you’ll be based in our office in London Fields

● The remuneration is between  30,000 -  35,000 dependent upon experience
