Job Description

We’re on the look-out for an innovative, self-motivated and dynamic Mid-weight Video Editor to join our HEAD creative team in London as the Winter Sport content and video editor.

You will be working for our in-house Creative Agency with an emphasis on bringing our creative ideas to life, and contribute towards the development and execution of our various post production requirements.

You will be integral to development, and output of our suite of film, video and motion deliverables. You’ll work alongside our Lead Creatives and Production department in the planning, ideation and production of creative across TVCs, social and various other motion touchpoints for example out of home and retail.

We need someone bursting with ideas and passion for creative, and critically a passion for all things skiing. You will be a natural team player, working with fellow creatives to solve briefs within the HEAD creative framework. You should be self-organised, able to manage your own workload effectively and enjoy working across a variety of projects. Creative inquisitiveness runs through you and attention for detail is essential, an appreciation for sport and eye for dynamic movement is a major plus for this winter sports focussed role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Development: Work with the Creative Leads and Producer in developing video creative including storyboards, feasibility and accurate timing estimates. As a natural creative, you’ll be given the space to problem solve and immerse yourself in R&D and developing techniques to elevate our quality of output. We’re looking for someone who brings an infectious inquisitively to the creative process.
  • Workflow Management: With the support of the Motion and Production team, it is up to you to manage your workflow and deliver projects on time. You must be comfortable communicating with different teams to inform them of any timing adjustments that must be made ahead of time.
  • A Natural Leader: We are in the process of realigning how we create our motion output and the team to service the business needs. You will aid the Creative Director and Dir of Creative Ops in identifying and hiring the team around you, as well as being their day to day line manager.
  • Editorial Excellence: This is not just a managerial role, you will still be expected and given the platform to exercise your core skill and execute a range of edit projects, primarily live action, with a knowledge of 2D and 3D animation a definite bonus.

About You

  • Passion for sport, particularly skiing. You should have a keen interest in snow/action sports and be aware of the various factions within the scene.
  • A strong motion all-rounder with experience in live action and 2D with 3D animation a plus.
  • You must be responsible for your own work, well organised and thrive in fast turnaround environments.
  • You think audience-first and understand how to create assets that best resonate with a variety of consumers in different touchpoints.
  • Be proactive and involved in unlocking the potential of how the post production team creatively integrates with the wider studio.
  • The ability to work with creatives to bring their vision to life through motion, helping out with motion conception, storyboarding and shot selection to create compelling video content.
  • A go-getting self-starter who is responsible for your own work and has a passion for driving your vision forward.
  • You must take great pride in your work and what you do.

Skills & Eexperience

You will need 4+ years’ experience working in a creative post production environment creating content for offline and online platforms, along with being able to demonstrate experience in the points below.

  • A passion for sports and is keen to learn.
  • A proven ability to produce high quality motion output (edit and animation).
  • You must have come from a production/post production company or in-house team where motion is core to what you do.
  • Faultless attention to detail.
  • Can work quickly and efficiently, managing multiple projects at once.
  • Understands edit workflows and can accurately provide time estimates.
  • You must take great pride and responsibility in your work and what you do.
  • You must be an expert in post-production processes.
  • Can demonstrate your own edit and animation – live action, 2D, 3D in your portfolio. Filming and photography are a bonus.

Software

  • Very good knowledge of Premier and AFX along with best working practices.
  • An understanding of C4D, Arnold and/or Houdini is a bonus.
  • Still/Motion camera operation and lighting is a plus but not a pre-requisite.
  • A basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Additional

This role is 5 days a week in our Greenwich Studio. While it is likely you'll be able to do standard office hours, it will vary at times depending on the production. When there are deadlines to meet, long hours and overtime may occasionally be required.

There will be some international travel required. A good level of English both spoken and written is required. German highly advantageous but not essential.

You must be a UK citizen or have permission to work in the UK.
