ROLE OVERVIEW
The Brand Strategist is responsible for defining, shaping, and evolving brand strategy across multiple client accounts. Working closely with our Creative Strategist, this role leads the development of foundational brand thinking – from positioning and purpose to architecture, messaging, and long-term growth frameworks.
The chosen candidate will ensure that all brand expressions are anchored in clear insight, commercial objectives, and cultural relevance. They translate complex business challenges into distinctive brand platforms that guide creative, content, and campaign development.
This individual combines rigorous analytical thinking with cultural intelligence and strong storytelling skills. They are confident in navigating senior client conversations, aligning stakeholders, and providing clarity in moments of ambiguity. Their work establishes the strategic foundations upon which impactful creative and brand experiences are built.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES
- Lead day-to-day strategic direction across multiple brand projects and accounts.
- Develop brand positioning, value propositions, purpose statements, and messaging frameworks.
- Design and deliver strategic workshops (vision, purpose, positioning, architecture).
- Extract and synthesise actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative research.
- Build strategic frameworks including brand architecture, portfolio strategy, and go-to-market foundations.
- Develop clear and compelling brand strategy presentations for clients.
- Define audience segmentation and customer journey frameworks.
- Identify whitespace opportunities and competitive positioning territories.
- Track and interpret cultural, consumer, and industry trends to inform brand evolution.
- Ensure strategic consistency across campaigns, activations, and content ecosystems.
- Evaluate brand performance and recommend optimisation strategies based on data and insight.
- Provide strategic guardrails that inform creative development without dictating execution.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in a branding agency, strategy consultancy, or boutique creative studio.
- Proven track record developing brand positioning and strategic frameworks.
- Strong understanding of consumer behaviour, market analysis, and competitive landscape mapping.
- Experience facilitating client workshops and leading senior stakeholder discussions.
- Confident presenter with strong narrative-building skills.
- Experience working alongside creative, design, and content teams.
- Understanding of digital ecosystems, content strategy, and brand experience.
- Familiarity with trend forecasting platforms (e.g. WGSN, Trendwatching) and AI-supported research tools.
- Strong written communication skills across strategy documents, decks, and brand narratives.
