This role, available on a 6 month FTC initially, plays a key part in driving our ambitions for the brand.

As an experienced Art Director, you will work closely with the CMO, Head of Brand and Creative Lead to drive the aesthetic ambitions of the brand, collaborating with our talented team of creatives, designers and producers and breathing life into ideas through imaginative and compelling visual storytelling.

You will be bold in your ambition to create cultural as well as commercial impact, and you will energise the team around you with a passion for the desires & aspirations of our core target audience. Key to this will be the quality of the visual treatments you conceive and direct, along with the way you collaborate with others to turn them into campaigns, content and retail materials that resonate globally, across all relevant channels, on behalf of the business, our customers and the causes we care about.

More about the role

Your primary role will be the development and execution of distinctive visual treatments, bringing to life the Body Shop’s extensive product range and change-making brand credentials across our multi-channel marketing campaigns and content.

You will conceive and direct quality visuals, along with the way you collaborate with others to turn them into campaigns, content and retail materials that resonate globally, across all relevant channels, on behalf of the business, our customers and the causes we care about.

You will be responsible for executing our craft ambition to the highest standard across both stills photography and moving image. You will create a diverse range of content, including major campaigns, innovative branded content, retail materials and visual experiences. You will bring the same creative passion to everything you do and you will sell your work in persuasively, with intelligence, as well as supporting others in this endeavour.

You will help us build an outstanding ‘black book’ of creative partners across film, photography, talent, prop design and visual merchandising by having your finger on the pulse of existing and new suppliers. Be inquisitive about their innovative thinking and think flexibly about how they can help us with our creative vision.

What we look for

Extensive previous experience in a senior art director role, supporting more junior teams in a fast-moving creative environment (ideally retail/beauty) that delivers consistently high-quality creative output across Brand, all channels of Marketing Communication.

Your portfolio must demonstrate the quality of your work and ability to solve challenging briefs

A good level of experience in production across film/video and photography/stills is essential. You will have Experience of working alongside photographers, directors and film crews is essential, in addition to a creative appreciation/understanding of film and photography craft.

Ability to originate and nurture disruptive visual ideas so they resonate culturally, commercially and across all relevant channels with the ability to tap in to relevant culture trends to give TBS a competitive edge

A flair for selling in ideas with clarity, confidence and logical reasoning with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from other disciplines to drive the right creative outputs for the brand

Excellent interpersonal skills – can communicate concisely and confidently at all levels

Excellent attention to detail is essential , partnered with a flexible, calm, decisive and a solution focused approach
