Position summary:

The Design department within Wieden+Kennedy works to create a visual world in which our clients stories, voice and business come to life. We believe everything stems from a larger strategic brand idea. We work on a range of design, branding, strategy, and advertising projects. Whatever, wherever, however a brand communicates, we love to do it.

Designers concept and create visual design solutions to a large variety of problems ranging from graphic design and brand systems to advertising campaigns large and small. All work at W+K is done in teams and the ability to collaborate with other creatives partners and non-creative team members in the development of ideas is fundamental to the role. Bringing a strong creative point of view is expected, but knowing when to listen and collaborate is key. Designers help make the team better and stronger through approach, methodology, work, and craft. Established strong knowledge of skills including graphic design, identity design, branding systems, typography, storytelling, and photography are needed. Ability to work in motion and 3D encouraged.

Midweights are independently proactive, they work closely with more senior members of the design team but can manage their own time. They have gained a deeper understanding of the creative process, and are developing their skills around the work. They can follow a direction, and are developing their ability to self-edit and construct logic in order to share honed thinking with the rest of the team.

What we expect from you:

  • Passionate about developing their craft, and seeks out ways to do so.
  • Understands basic production process and responsibilities.
  • Growing ability to judge their own ideas and what comes next in their creative process.
  • Can create ideas that fit an existing brand world or platform.
  • Developing ability to write good setups for ideas.
  • Developing ability to present, discuss, debate and defend ideas with both DD/CD and client.
  • Developing ability to brief creative partners clearly.
  • Consistently can follow creative direction and deliver against it.
  • Knowledgeable on visual culture and trends.
  • 4+ years experience as a minimum.
