Job Description

The Role

We’re hiring a graphic designer with the longer-term view for the role to become the Digital Design Director for the Initiative Earth charity.

This is a new role that works closely with the EcoResolution & Initiative Earth team in order to lead on the creative, graphic and visual direction of the charity's activities and programmes.

The role is focused on transforming complex and nuanced topics into striking visual designs and, if possible, video edits; finding the best way to engage with our audience through visual media; and refining the overall style of EcoResolution and the other Initiative Earth activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creative direction, implementation and evolution of EcoResolution and Initiative Earth branding and aesthetic
  • Create clear and striking visual designs for social media communicating complex subjects
  • Design posters/visuals for events
  • Format text, images and diagrams into PDFs, webpages and social media posts
  • Work collaboratively with EcoResolution team and broader charity team
  • If possible, we would like the Graphic Designer to also work on video editing (bonus if able to create motion graphics!)
  • Source stunning and impactful photography for visual communications

  • Big picture view of overall design direction and visuals across our multiple platforms
  • Confident creating designs that incorporate both visuals and text
  • Bring own creative ideas to build upon our existing branding and to keep content fresh and exciting
  • In tune with trending design formats and different ways to communicate effectively through social media posts
  • Awareness and interest in the topics covered by EcoResolution prefered!

Time Commitment + Location

3 days per week

This is a remote role and we are open to applications from outside of the UK, however the candidate is required to attend meetings during GMT/CET working hours. There may be opportunities for occasional co-working in person in London, as well as team away days in various locations in the UK (optional).
