We are Whistle Punks, and we are all about People!

We brought urban axe throwing to the UK back in 2016 and, ever since our people and our business has been growing and developing, as we play hard to take front and centre in the cutting-edge space that is competitive socialising.

In that time our guests have thrown over 10 million axes. All those throws add up to an axe travelling all the way around the world, and then some!

We have venues in Bristol, Leeds, and Manchester, and in October 2022, relocated our London venue to the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus, and wow, are we busy. With more venues in the pipeline, our commitment to achieving BCorp accreditation and our passion for customer and employee experience in equal measure, there is no better time to join in with the Punk way.

We are excited to be growing our Marketing team and we are on the look out for a Content Manager to support our continued growth in the digital space.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the ability to think both creatively and analytically. The role will be responsible for producing and publishing image and video content, writing, editing and proofreading, formulating content strategies and growing our key metrics, engagement, following and traffic.

You will need to be comfortable and confident in finding creative ways of building an online presence, through all forms of social media, website content and email marketing strategies. You will also have experience in using data analytics in forming content strategy and plans. We are a passionate and purposeful business, with a group of passionate and purpose led “Punks” and we need someone who aligns with our vision and can help to keep our messaging on brand.

Content Manager Responsibilities:

● Writing, editing, proofreading and publishing content.

● Working closely with our graphic designer, venue and customer service teams and partners

● Formulating a cross-platform content strategy

● Work closely with HR on our internal communication strategy.

● Brainstorm with team members to develop new ideas.

● Build our following on social media including instagram, tiktok, linkedin and more.

● Provide editorial, creative and technical support to team members.

● Track web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels and performance.

● Manage our email newsletter and work on automated email journeys.

● Work closely with our website agency to improve traffic using SEO best practice.

Content Manager Requirements:

● 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role/s

● Adept at keyword placement and SEO best practices

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Highly computer literate and knowledge of HTML and experience using WordPress

● Experience with social media management, paid social experience is a bonus

● Creativity and the ability to develop original written and visual content

● Ability to deliver content that provokes an emotional reaction

● Highly adaptable and happy to try and test

● Analytical, with performance at the heart of decision making

● Eager to take responsibility and learn new skills

● Independent, with a willingness to goal set and create growth.

● Keen to travel to our venues in London, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds

● Flexible working with a commitment of a minimum of 2 days a week in our collaborative working space in London

● Experience with Google Analytics, Meta Ad Manager & Mailchimp

Salary Band

Salary between £28k to £32k per annum, and up to a 20% annual bonus pot
