Job Description

Who will you report to? Copy Director level and above

When? Monday to Friday, 9.30am until 5.30pm

Where? From November, we will be in Farringdon and will recommend a minimum of 2 days a week working in the studio.

Overview

We’re looking for an exceptional senior copywriter, with a passion for language – and a talent for giving any business a human voice.

You will be at the point in your career where you can take the lead as the writer on a project, confidently working with designers, strategists and account handlers. You’ll also be a sparring partner for your clients – a trusted voice, who can guide them on the right creative path forward.

You will be developing a strong understanding – and mastery of – all the ingredients you need to connect with different audiences, tap into different brand voices and deliver messages that are fresh and on-brief.

You’ll be at your best when you’re working as part of a collaborative team, whether it’s branding, campaign or digital work. As a strategic thinker, you’ll be comfortable questioning briefs and reframing challenges to help clients get high quality creative work that will move their brand forward.

You’re our type of Human if you’re:

  • Considered: You understand briefs from the client's perspective and are consistent in considering them at all stages of the project.
  • Exacting: You strive for excellence across every project that you work on, refining the details that count in all work leaving the office, ensuring that everything meets our standards.
  • Calm: You understand that change is a given on most projects and can bring levity and warmth to difficult situations, to help boost morale and assure the team that solutions can be found.
  • Insightful: You embrace throwing yourself into complex problems outside of your area of expertise. You’re not intimidated by having to do a lot of reading and thinking in order to be able to fully engage with a brief.
  • Self-aware: You wear your experience and knowledge lightly. You know when to speak and when to listen. You would never consider yourself experienced enough to no longer be interested and fully engaged by the ideas of others.
  • Collaborative: You are an approachable team leader and driver, building on the ideas of others to find the best possible solution. You publicly acknowledge the effort, hard work and support of others. You make time for everyone, stressing the collective - the ‘we’ and not the ‘I’.
  • Responsible: You take full ownership over projects and client accounts that you lead on. Everyone knows they can rely on you, and you’re proud of that. If something needs doing, you'll stick around to do it with minimum fuss.
  • Honest: You know how to be open and candid with others in a way that is always productive and solutions focused. You are sensitive enough to be able to disagree with others or give negative feedback (and receive it) without causing upset.

You are generally responsible for

  • Talent development: You can train less experienced colleagues to learn new skills and ways of working.
  • Planning & preparation: Working across multiple projects simultaneously, you can shape and coordinate activities on project work, including those involving other colleagues.
  • Communication & presentation: You can present work formally to colleagues, and informally to clients. You can visit external student and professional bodies and deliver a lecture or workshop on an area of expertise.
  • Feeding back: You can take part in feedback or critique sessions with clients.
  • Problem solving: You are quick to spot problems, can use you experience to pre-empt problem areas, and can work with your teammates to find a solution.

Working independently (with input from Director level and above if required), you will:

  • complete core tasks in our discover and define process, ideating and forming insights
