Hey, Service Designer

We are looking for a talented service designer with 3+ years experience working on end-to-end service design projects — you are able to approach projects with strategic intent, problem solve in complex spaces and co-create digital products and services with local communities.

Start date: May 2022

For this role, we need you to have the right to work in the UK and be London based for this role.

Salary range:

The salary range for this role is £40,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.

Role requirements:

A service design portfolio of work that showcases your problem solving process to complex problems.

3+ years agency experience working on an end-to-end project from concept to launch, including planning and working in a team.

Experience in working with communities and clients through workshop facilitation and co-creating activities.

Ability to articulate design rationale.

A core focus on ensuring our product and services propositions meets the needs of the communities we build for and our clients' ambition.

Ability to adapt and find solutions to keep projects moving forward (and experience enough to know when it's a design problem or requires other problem-solving methods).

Experience in communicating research insights and creating visual outputs such as journey mapping, personas, storytelling, service blueprints, storyboards and presentations.

Excellent attention to craft and detail, can balance expression/utility, originality/expectation, simplicity/uniqueness.

Ability to engage in rapid prototyping and the testing of ideas: planning and conducting experiments with communities allowing us to understand if we are moving in the right direction with the things we create.

Are driven, friendly, collaborative, and positive.

You do not need to be the best at all of these things, but you do have to be willing to learn as we will guide you throughout the journey.

The Interview process

We are a small team at COMUZI so we try to keep the interview short and sweet:

A portfolio review + getting to know who you are and how you see the world with the Design Director and Strategy Director (1 hour)

after a successful first interview

You will meet the team that you will be working with at COMUZI, during this session you will be asked more questions and you will have the opportunity to ask the team questions also (1 hour)

If successful, you will be notified from the design director that the role is yours.

You do not need to dress smart or anything, dress in what makes you comfortable.

We will do our best to make sure through out the interview process, you also feel comfortable too.

Please apply

We believe that the creative industry's bad behaviour disproportionately hurts the most marginalised people in society — including people of colour, people from working class backgrounds, women and folks of the LGBTQ+ community.

We believe that these communities must be centred in the work we do.

Hence, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other marginalised communities.

Who we are

COMUZI is a design studio based in London.

We utilise a combination of research, design and technology capabilities to create future-positive ideas, products, services and ways of thinking that work for our clients and helps them to engage and have more meaningful, authentic interactions and connections with their community they serve.

The result of that can be apps, websites, installations, activations, contemplations, books, tool-kits, insight reports, films, content, experiences, commercials or objects—but are always delightful, considered, futures oriented and invite the community to interact with the artefacts we create in a meaningful way.

We advice that before you apply, you should go through the projects on the COMUZI site and see if we are the right fit to advance your career journey.
