The A Side: A Day in The Life
The Content Commissioner will bring their own individualistic creativity, flair, and a passion for music and culture to curating contemporary content at Polydor Label Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to commission, shoot and edit highly engaging pieces of content across multiple platforms for an incredible, diverse roster of recording artists.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
The successful Content Commissioner will:
Be Creative
Commission engaging short and long-form content, including music videos, bespoke content, clips for social media
Commission eye catching live music / tour content, content series, visualisers, lyrical and subtitled content, interviews, teasers
Work closely with artists and managers to define and realise the content output for individual campaigns
Work closely with the marketing, social and digital teams to ensure content is faithful to the artist or project vision
Tell compelling stories through content that is highly shareable
Push boundaries that set our artists apart from the rest of the pack
Be Collaborative
Be a team player; keeping internal collaborators and relevant partners updated on progress, maintaining a collaborative approach across all projects
Good artist liaison skills; a creative communicator, confident in the presentation and discussion of creative concepts and ideas
A people person; being present, available, and approachable on set
Always aware of the artists vision and able to check in and communicate clearly when needed
Be Digital
Maximise ‘online moments’ by turning round captured content within quick timeframes
Be trend aware to maximise opportunities online.
Have excellent deck design and copywriting skills
Some technical understanding of the processes behind making video / photo, understanding of production elements, aware of APA guidelines and rates
Be Administrative
Be a detail-oriented creative when it comes to approving work with overall accountability
Have a good understanding of production costs/budgets and feeling comfortable negotiating and ensuring projects represent good value for the artist and label
Create detailed budgets, call sheets and schedules
Person Specification
A Passionate creative thinker, used to assisting with commissioning cultural content moments
Positive, professional, fun, and collaborative approach to people and projects
Aware of current visual trends and styles
A love of music is a must; electronic music taste could be an asset in this role
Developing a wide network of creatives, existing relationships with photographers, directors, designers, stylists
Confident on shoots, overseeing creative and production
A people person, being present and available on set
Some level of understanding of production budgets and experience reviewing treatments / concepts
Some level of experience managing timelines for commissioning both pre-production and post-production
Used to managing timelines across a project
Can cope with a fast-paced environment; being nimble and reactive as well as proactive
