Job Description

The Digital Officer will drive the digital content strategy for White Cube across a range of platforms including social media, email and website. They will be part of a proactive and energetic communications department passionate about contemporary art and artists.

With an interest in White Cube’s artist roster and a strong awareness of developments in digital marketing and communications, this role will work alongside another Digital Officer in the team to commission, develop, optimise, and monitor the content on White Cube’s digital platforms.

They will work collaboratively with many departments across the company including the wider comms team, curatorial & sales team and publishing team (which oversees copywriting and art direction for White Cube).

Responsibilities include:

Liaising with internal or freelance producers to commission and approve video, images and graphic design as needed

Building and scheduling e-mail content on Mailchimp

Managing marketing email lists on Mailchimp

Lining-up digital marketing campaigns on Facebook Ad Manager / Google Ad Manager

Providing monthly and quarterly analysis on best performing content, exploring ways to optimise content for White Cube’s digital audiences

Drafting or adapting social media / email copy

Posting across all of White Cube’s social media channels

Community management

Maintaining the master digital content schedule

Proofing and sense-checking copy

Making website updates

Other jobs to support the communications team as when required

The ideal candidate has:

Strong knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and YouTube

An understanding of the principles of digital marketing and experience using the available tools (e.g. Facebook Ads, Google Ad Manager)

The ability to juggle a variety of digital responsibilities and stay organised

A very strong eye for detail and consistency (both visually and in written copy)

The ability to work with and pick up a variety of digital tools

Strong problem-solving skills, and a drive to build and improve our content

Excellent written and verbal communication and people skills

Project management skills, including managing schedules and deadlines efficiently, and using a budget tracker

Experience with Mailchimp or similar email marketing tools

The ability to drive / initiate projects independently or collaboratively with other internal or external stakeholders

A passion for modern and contemporary art, and a good understanding of White Cube’s role as a commercial gallery representing leading international artists

We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with:

Experience working on marketing campaigns in the arts, culture, fashion or luxury sectors

Social media experience at an art institution, fair or artist studio

Interest in tracking campaigns and analytics

Practical experience with Google Ad Manager / Facebook Ad Manager
