Graphic designer with motion graphics specialism
Job Description
Artful Dog is a small creative agency that produces content and design for clients across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, resources, charity, mining, agriculture and communication. We produce content for print and online channels aimed at internal audiences (employees) and external audiences (customers, members, patients). Print and online channels include magazines, short corporate films and animations, brochures, infographics and factsheets, toolkits and presentations.
The role
We’re looking for a full-time midweight graphics designer with a specialism in motion graphics, to support us in producing and editing animations and films (approx. 1 to 5 minutes in length), and also to create illustrations/graphics, and work on presentations, campaigns and digital and print publications (reports, magazines, marketing collateral). This role will be suited to someone who is 2-5 years into their journey as a designer and is open to learning new things and developing their skills.
No one day will be the same, but you can expect to be creating animations from storyboard to final production, designing graphics and infographics; researching images and illustrations; contributing to magazines and reports; laying out content for leaflets, posters and factsheets; designing presentations; researching new formats or ideas for social media posts. You will be expected to liaise with clients to share ideas, establish/clarify the brief, and respond to any requests and amendments.
Reporting to the creative director, you will be a key member of our creative team, sharing ideas and insight around visually communicating with our clients’ target audiences through new channels and fresh ways of using existing channels.
We will support you in developing your design and client liaison skills, and we can offer training in other relevant fields of our work to help you develop in your role. You will gain a good understanding of the different ways in which organisations communicate with their audiences, and how well-designed content makes a difference in helping companies achieve their goals.
In turn, we are looking for someone who can inspire us and develop our creative offering.
We’re committed to ensuring our workplace is a welcoming and inclusive environment, and we do a lot of diversity, equality and inclusion work with our clients to help them do the same.
We also like to give back. A few members of the team are involved in mentoring schemes, and the company sponsors each employee in adopting an animal of their choice at our local city farm.
