Job Description

About ico

ico is a London-based brand and creative studio whose underlying belief is to inspire connection by challenging convention. By combining culture, consumer insight and creativity, we build brands and experiences that take ambitious companies to new heights and enable visionary founders to define the future.

As an internationally-diverse studio of designers, writers, strategists, thinkers, and hardcore listeners, we work with empathy, imagination, and entrepreneurial spirit to create brands that define today and shape tomorrow.

The role

We are looking for a full-time Creative Director. You’re able to lead, collaborate, inspire and form close working relationships with both clients and a tight-knit, talented team. You can think strategically as well as creatively and you value the verbal as much as the visual to create compelling brands.

You’ll have a complete understanding of brand and its continual evolution in the physical and digital world; an insatiable appetite for culture and current trends as well as creativity.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading, inspiring and collaborating with the creative and management team across an eclectic range of projects
  • Developing strong relationships with the clients
  • Contributing to the studio culture and team dynamic
  • Lead and work seamlessly across disciplines – design, art-direction, writing and digital
  • Play a key role in new business meetings and pitches
  • Bring your own network of creative collaborators (writers, strategists, photographers etc)

About you

  • Strong leadership skills (currently in a leadership role – DD or CD)
  • A great communicator (be it to a CEO or an intern)
  • A collaborative management style (can empathise and inspire)
  • Can construct strong narratives and creative arguments (presentations)
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience
  • The ability to understand the wider picture and ambition (strategy)
  • Can think big (challenge conventions)
  • Have a strong track record in brand and design (understand its commercial value as well as the craft)
  • Positivity, energy, humility – you don’t take yourself too seriously.

Benefits

  • Annual discretionary bonus
  • A hybrid working environment, with up to 2 days working from home per week
  • Reduced working hours during summer months
  • A supportive and collaborative management team
  • Cultural team trips
