We’re looking for an experienced Lead Graphic Designer to join our dynamic Digital and Creative Experience team, working across a range of channels to deliver sector-leading creative that cuts through the noise in a highly competitive sector.
Main duties and responsibilities
As our Lead Graphic Designer, you will lead the creative strategy and execution in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and external partners to bring the University brand to life across initiatives, channels and products. Your role will require you to oversee brainstorming, creative concepting and development in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring creative meets requirements from business objectives, operational and brand perspectives.
You will be required to manage the relationship and workflow of external creative suppliers to deliver concepts and outputs, providing guidance and feedback throughout projects and manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring work is delivered on time and on budget, handling competing priorities across a complex organization. Your role will involve leading the evolution and future development of the University’s visual identity, informed by sector trends, customer insight and changing audience behaviour, and be accountable for the successful 360° roll-out of branded content on internal and external channels.
Skills and experience required
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience of producing high quality design in line with organisational corporate visual identity and experience of designing for high quality outputs and both print and digital collateral. It is essential that you are able to work to and achieve tight deadlines as well as experience informing the development of brand guidelines based on customer insight and sector trends.
You will have the ability to deliver projects successfully on time and on budget, confidently manage expectations of stakeholders at all levels and be able to manage a team of creatives or experience managing projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills and have specialist knowledge of industry-standard graphics and multimedia software packages including Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Animate).
Qualifications required
You’ll be educated with a minimum of a degree in Graphic Design / Visual Communication (or a related field of study), a qualification to an equivalent standard or have proven professional work experience in the field.
