Job Description
Position: Blog Editor, Jackson’s Art Supplies
Salary: £25,350 - £27,300 pro rata depending on experience
Working hours: 5 days / 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday (9am-5.30pm)
Location: Jackson’s Art Supplies, 1 Farleigh Place, London, N16 7SX (remote as interim)
Start date: November 2021
Jackson’s Art Blog provides reliable, specialist, interesting, educational and thought provoking content for fine art practitioners of all levels of experience. Bringing together art material reviews, history, application and uses, as well as artist interviews and news.
We’re looking for a Blog Editor to join our growing, creative team. The ideal candidate is someone artistic, with a passion for creating engaging and meaningful blog content, and strong leadership skills. One day you might be determining content, assigning article briefs, or publishing blog content. The next (or the same) day, you might be crafting a blog newsletter, or recruiting new content writers. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, who is organised and thinks practically and creatively.
Our Marketing Team embrace a collaborative approach in all areas of work. Via social media, product catalogues, our website, our blog, and everything in between, we work hard to constantly innovate the way our customers experience our brand via all touchpoints.
Responsibilities
- Strategy and growth of our blog, working closely with the leadership team to set and understand the goals, evolve the style guides, and determine content.
- Management of the writing team, including recruiting content writers, assigning and writing article briefs for writers, ensuring content is on brand and adhere’s to TOV and SEO guides, and deadlines are met.
- Creation and management of the editorial plan and calendar.
- Editing, approving, and publishing blog content.
- Overseeing blog budget.
- Coordinating content for our weekly blog newsletter.
- Providing regular performance reports.
Requirements
- Experience of managing and editing a blog.
- An excellent writer of clear, intelligent articles.
- Technical proficiency with Wordpress.
- Experience of working with artists and creatives.
- A good understanding of art materials and knowledge of art terminology is a bonus.
- Experience of SEO is a bonus.
