Screen Shot media is proud to be supporting the government Kickstart scheme and is looking to hire Kickstarters for the following role: Creative Social Media Editor. All applicants need to be aged between 20-24 and on Universal Credit.

This role is a hybrid between journalism and social media content creation. Your key responsibilities on a day-to-day basis will be:

  • You will work directly with our Social Media Manager to develop a deep understanding of social media channels we use across our company and the content pillars that dictate our publishing schedule
  • You will learn to use our social media scheduling software and how to schedule content
  • You will develop stories that live exclusively on Instagram and Twitter, this includes researching trending news stories and transforming these into viral social media posts
  • Assisting in running weekly social media campaigns
  • Finding, researching, writing and creating viral content
  • Working on social media strategy and developing deep insight into the analytics and targets across our social media channels

From this experience, you will leave understanding the ins and outs of social media content creation and ready to enter a social media-focused role in any company operating today – which is an essential part of growth and speaking with a company’s audience and customers.

Key skills you will get to refine during this placement:

  • Understanding of social media channels, including Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter
  • Skills using scheduling software and social listening and analytics tools to understand audiences in a deeper and more meaningful way
  • You will gain experience in social media strategic planning and growth marketing
  • How to use Facebook’s ads manager and manage social media campaigns with a big paid budget behind them
  • Learn how to meet social media growth, engagement and views targets and what it means to speak directly with audiences and customers across comments, Direct Messages and replies
  • You will be able to understand what it takes to create viral social media content and what it means to create editorial content that lives exclusively on social media channels

This role is for a candidate who has a keen interest in social media growth and community management. You will be working remotely, 3 days per week from 10am to 6pm for 6 months.
