Video Editor

We’re looking for an experienced in-house video editor to work with our talented production team in delivering beautiful and engaging content for a variety of social channels and formats. This includes editing long form courses, branded content, social ad campaigns and short films to help grow Create Academy into the worlds leading lifestyle focussed learning platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Work creatively, accurately, and efficiently on post-production to delivery high quality videos that deliver on briefs and team expectations, comfortably working across all video styles and formats.
• Understand and interpret the Create Academy brand and visual values into video edits, whilst bringing new creative ideas and processes.
• Collaborate with the tech-product, marketing and creative teams to develop campaigns, edits and other content ideas to maximise impact and engagement.
• Achieve a constantly high level of sound design and mixing, colour grading and graphic design on a high volume of edits.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team in maintaining cutting edge industry standard workflows and media organisation.
• Collaborate with other video editors and motion graphics editors both internally and freelance to share and manage projects.
• Multitask and communicate proactively to ensure workload is managed efficiently across the team.
• Be a self motivated problem-solver who is eager to develop, learn new skills and continually improve on the high standard of content produced by Create Academy.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent
• 3+ years minimum industry experience as video editor, freelance or otherwise.
• In-depth working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
• Experienced user of MacOS.
• Great at problem solving and fixing technical issues.
• Extremely organised with a high attention to detail.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, follow direction and work effectively under time pressure

Preferred Experience

• On location video experience e.g. shooting, producing, lighting
• Graphic design skills
• Ideally you'll also have an interest in the kind of creative skills taught through Create Academy.
