Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly creative Art Director to lead the Marketing Design team at The Telegraph, to provide the creative vision for our marketing across all channels print and digital. Reporting to the Deputy Creative Director and working closely with the Creative Director to define our marketing approach and develop our marketing visual language.

Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of marketeers, editorial specialists, data analysts, CRM specialists and other design areas, the Marketing Design team has a fundamental role to play in helping The Telegraph continuously engage its existing readership, grow its audience, and achieve its subscription targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the art direction for all Telegraph marketing, ensuring The Telegraph is powerfully projected across all digital and print campaigns
  • Think strategically on how the teams projects are supporting broader business aims, clearly articulating your ideas and creative thinking to give direction to the team
  • Develop a clear understanding of the brand and be engrossed in everything it does – becoming a brand guardian
  • Championing growth within the team, providing timely and relevant feedback so they understand how and why design decisions are made
  • Work hand-in-hand with the lead copywriter and more senior members of the team to make consistently compelling work across editorial, acquisitions, retention (engagement and winback), partnerships, events and rewards.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders from across different areas of the business to prioritise work and make sure projects are delivered on time
