About us
OBRIZUM was founded in 2015 and is a rapidly growing and cutting-edge enterprise learning technology company headquartered in Cambridge U.K, with offices in the City of London. The quantity of information available in today’s world is expanding exponentially and the knowledge and skills that businesses need are changing faster than ever before. Relying on manual human effort to create, organise, manage, and update digital training at the scale and speed required is now practically impossible.
OBRIZUM has created proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to address the underlying drivers of disruption that are defining the future of work. OBRIZUM's AI is used to build and organise knowledge at unprecedented speed, fulfilling a role that would previously require weeks to months of manual human effort. The founding pillars that drive our company’s values, ethos and mission are Automation, Adaptability and Analytics.
OBRIZUM Media (OM) is the content and media arm of the company. For the last 6 years OM has been a market leader in creating best-in-class adaptive learning experiences, and established a talented in-house team who specialise in design, animation, video production and 360VR. We work with some of the biggest brands to develop innovative and exciting ways to engage learners, embracing the power of our own technology to make data driven decisions.
Role description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative designer who can join our fast growing team and support the design leads on creating engaging and beautifully designed e-learning content for a range of clients, covering a variety of sectors. The right candidate will have a strong understanding of editorial design, and more broadly be able to apply the fundamentals of design – shape, colour, image, layout – to make thoughtful and informed designs which can bring information to life. The heart of what we do is to create learning content that is both easy to learn from (clean layout, accessible, consistent) and engaging (illustrated, bold, characterful). As an e-learning focused company, the designs we produce (whether PDF or video) are experienced online, and so an understanding of best practice for web legibility is essential.
On a day-to-day basis the candidate can expect to; apply existing style guides to client content, assist in designing and setting up new style guides, develop icons / illustrations, produce internal brand work, apply client feedback, and ensure files are all organised / up-to-date. The scale of projects also varies greatly, from small “pilots” to multi-year contracts with global brands, and as such there will sometimes be a requirement to work on a number of projects at the same time, or to take ownership of a single one over a longer period.
As a team we care about maintaining and building on the high standards we have become known for, with collaboration at the heart of our creative approach. A passion for developing great design, as well as the ways in which technology can be embraced to develop new and exciting content formats is key.
Your day-to-day will include:
Conceptualisation and Design
Developing creative concepts and visual designs for various projects, considering client or brand requirements.
Project Management
Managing multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
Collaborating with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Managing teams of external contractors and agencies, providing clear briefs and ensuring that feedback is delivered accurately and on time.
Brand Consistency
Maintaining brand consistency across all design materials, adhering to established brand guidelines.
Ensuring that design work aligns with our clients overall brand identity and messaging.
Client Interaction
Communicating with clients to understand their design needs and preferences.
Presenting design concepts and ideas to clients, incorporating feedback for revisions.
Software Proficiency
Working with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
Staying updated on the latest design tools and technologies.
Learning about the OBRIZUM software offering, and developing creative ways of harnessing this to streamline production workflows.
Image Editing and Manipulation
Editing and manipulating images in line with project requirements.
Optimising images for various platforms and resolutions.
Feedback Incorporation
Receiving feedback from team members, clients, or stakeholders and making necessary revisions to designs.
Providing constructive feedback to junior designers when necessary.
Trend Awareness
Staying informed about design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies within the online education sector.
Collaborating with other departments to use the OBRIZUM infrastructure to develop new solutions to solve key problems within the design workflow.
Incorporating relevant trends into design work when appropriate (ie. generative AI etc.)
Problem Solving
Approaching design challenges with a problem-solving mindset, finding creative solutions within project constraints.
Adapting designs based on technical or logistical considerations.
Presentation Skills
Effectively presenting design concepts and ideas to internal teams, clients, or stakeholders.
Clearly articulating design decisions and how they align with project objectives.
