Job Description
What we’re looking for:
An artistic content producer who can create, curate, and manage engaging multimedia content (text, images, videos, stories) in alignment with our brand voice and objectives.
You’ll plan and schedule social media posts, elevating storytelling, brand personality, and community interaction to maintain high engagement.
The ideal candidate:
- Has strong visual branding and storytelling instincts.
- Understands lifestyle niches (trends in health, beauty, fashion, home, travel).
- Is skilled at creating shareable, “saves-worthy” content, as well as conversational posts (not just likes).
- Experienced with influencer relations and collabs.
- Get the algorithm and its changes, and is savvy with engagement metrics.
- Has the ability to embody our lifestyle brand’s tone and aspirations authentically.
- Is confident in filming yourself, speaking on camera, and directing talent.
- Is an efficient video editor. Bonus if you know how to film with a good camera beyond just the phone.
- Is organised and can prioritise multiple shoots and edits moving at once.
- Has strong accountability and a solid work ethic.
- Has a positive attitude and a tenacious character; things in our business can change quickly, so being comfortable reacting fast to unexpected opportunities and challenges will make this job exciting for you.
- Proactive, independent and autonomous, whilst also friendly and collaborative in a small team.
- Aligned with the mission and ethics of Citizens of Soil, specifically wanting to progress a mission around turning a commodity into a community to benefit people and planet!
- Enjoys working in small, entrepreneurial, start-up environments.
- Loves food & drink (it’s nice to take pleasure in what you do!)
- Willingness to travel for shoots, events, and retailer activations.
- Has a current right to work and live in the UK.
Top-level responsibilities:
- Content strategy: Develop social content and calendar aligned with key brand pillars and commercial needs.
- Trend integration: Jump quickly on social media trends that are authentic to our brand, adapting them to our aesthetic.
- Community engagement: Build intimacy with our Citizens. Respond to comments / DMs in brand voice, nurture loyal followers, and seed UGC (user-generated content).
- Aesthetic consistency: Maintain a cohesive Citizens of Soil aspirational and authentic look across all channels and formats.
- Advertising: Work with our marketing team to create video adverts that address every part of the funnel—engaging around key olive oil content, and scroll-stopping stories.
- Content library: Manage an organised asset storage for easy retrieval and repurposing.
- Partnerships: Coordinate with influencers and creators to boost reach authentically, working with the wider marketing team to identify the right partners.
- Analytical optimisation: Track saves, shares, story replies, and DM conversations—not just likes. Test and learn.
- Platform diversification: While IG is core, expand into TikTok and YouTube Shorts without diluting brand identity.
- People & planet: Be a champion of our sustainability ethos and look at every decision from an impact lens.
In return, you’ll get:
- 28 days holiday, in addition to bank holidays (FT).
- Private health insurance and wellness perks via Vitality.
- An annual trip to visit an olive grove!
- An opportunity to grow within a scaling business.
- Flexibility to support your work-life balance.
- The sense of purpose that comes from working for something bigger than the business itself.
- The finest extra virgin olive oils we can source (we’ll keep you stocked up with the good stuff)!
