Job Description
Chargeurs Museum Studio (CMS) is currently seeking to hire an experienced midweight 2D designer to join its busy London studio.
We are a global collective of creatives and cultural experts, with a main office based in London and a presence across the world. As a group, we provide creative and professional solutions for museums, brands, and physical experiences. The 2D design team is responsible for developing exhibition graphics and visual identities for experiential and arts-based cultural clients in the UK and abroad. From concept to artworking, the 2D team works across numerous touchpoints in brand experiences, art galleries, expos, museums, and beyond.
Are you curious by nature and passionate about storytelling? Then you might be the ideal candidate we are looking for. The perfect candidate would always have the question, "what is graphic experience design?" in mind. Using their understanding and skillset, they would explore unique creative solutions in an industry where no project is the same, from traditional museums to innovative brand experiences. The key to this is working as part of a multidisciplinary team and looking outside of your own discipline for inspiration to deliver graphics that challenge what spatial design is.
We are looking for someone who is:
- An excellent creative designer with a strong visual style and presentation skills
- A team player who is easy to get along with
- Inherently professional in attitude, both internally with teams and externally with clients
- Comfortable and thriving in a collaborative environment
- Deadline-driven and capable of managing their time well
- Equally skilled in creating concepts and focusing on details
- Interested in global cultural projects and contributing to in-studio forums
- Possessing production management skills to organize projects and work closely with clients and external contractors
The ideal candidate should have experience in:
- Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Motion software (After Effects, etc.), though not essential
- Working with brand and visual identities
- Understanding large-scale graphic design or museum, gallery, and exhibition processes
- Liaising with print and production companies
- Understanding Arabic or Arabic type design, though not essential.
CMS is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all. The role is to work full-time in our London studio, with the allowance for work from home days. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK (without restriction) will be required.
