Job Description

Overview

Creative Lives in Progress is an inclusive creative careers resource, on a mission to transform the way emerging talent access, understand and connect with the industry.

We’re excited to be recruiting for a passionate and proactive Editorial and Social Media Assistant to join the team for the next year. The successful candidate will work closely with our Online Editor and the rest of the Creative Lives team across the entire breadth of our editorial and social media output.

You will spend half your time writing engaging and useful articles for the site, and the other half creating digestible content for our social media channels. This means your tasks throughout the day will vary; you might be editing interviews with emerging creatives, or pitching ideas for articles in our weekly content meeting, to creating advice-filled posts for Instagram, or scheduling snappy Tweets to help promote our events.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to get stuck into the world of editorial, and strengthen their storytelling muscles. So if you’re passionate, love to work across a range of tasks and areas, and full of ideas to help the next generation of talent thrive, we’d love to hear from you!

🤫 P.S. We know that job descriptions can be intimidating, and it’s easy to talk yourself out of applying for something, but we encourage you to take a shot. You don’t even need to take our word for it!

  • Able to write to deadline with flair and precision
  • A confident written and visual communicator, with a proactive attitude

  • Interested in using social media to amplify written content

  • You preferably have some experience with, or are comfortable using Adobe InDesign

Tasks

  • Source and suggest potential editorial content

  • Contribute to and support with articles for our Company Partners where necessary
  • Write copy and create visual assets for our weekly newsletter
  • Help manage our social media channels; writing, creating and scheduling content (this could range from writing Tweets to assets for our events or carousels for Instagram) in good time to keep our platforms full and running
  • Manage your own time, taking initiative and planning ahead in line with our editorial calendar
  • Establish and maintain relationships with emerging and established names in industry
