Job Description

The DMC Group was formed in 2016 as a platform of complementary, market leading, needlecraft brands. The company owns and operates five iconic needlecrafts brands: DMC (global leader in embroidery threads with a 275-year heritage, the undisputed reference brand); Wool And The Gang (digital-first and contemporary knitting kits); Sirdar (over 125 year British heritage in knitting yarns); Rowan (iconic British premium brand) and Anchor (the most recent acquisition). Products include thread, yarn, kits, patterns, accessories, and publications. The Group also owns Tilsatec, a manufacturer of cut resistant technical yarns and protective gloves/sleeves bringing highly innovative technology to the PPE market.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new team member to join our fantastic DMC brand team. The Senior Graphic Designer plays a key role as the guardian of the brand. Working very closely with the Head of Brand & Creative, Group Digital Director and Brand Director, their focus is to lead, execute and collaborate on creative concepts and deliverables to support our NPD pipeline, our digital team and communications throughout the year. This role will also work on graphics for both offline material such as packaging, POS as well as marketing, social media and PR assets. You will keep DMC looking sharp, innovative and amazing.

DMC is a global brand, our head office is in Mulhouse, France but we also have offices in Spain, the US, Japan and London – where this role is based. This role will be required to work closely with the team in France and whilst it’s not a requirement to speak French, it would definitely be a big bonus. Mulhouse, France is where the majority of DMC’s product is developed and they have a junior graphic design resource to assist with the creation of wholesale assets, packaging, some content and more. Although this role does not line manage the junior in France, this role will be required to support and assist in their development. We also use freelance support in London to assist with newsletter design. You will work closely with this freelance designer to ensure output is on brand and in line with the wider direction. In addition you will:

- Design engaging and inspiring assets for both digital & offline material

- Design across multiple channels from Brand, E-Com, Digital Marketing, Organic Social, PR and more

- Art Direct, Design and deliver small to major campaigns across all our channels

- Consistently conceptualise and bring fresh ideas to the table to fuel our BAU pipeline and launches

- Be involved with core Business As Usual in-house projects and work closely with the New Product Development stream in collaboration with Brand Director, Group Digital Director and Head of Brand & Creative.

- Work very closely with the Head of Brand & Creative and E-Com team to drive and deliver the Digital Marketing Agenda.

- Art Direct, Produce, Attend and Deliver photographic and video content to support DMC pipeline

- Plan workload for self and Freelance Designers to ensure all commitments are met to time and budget

You will need a degree level qualification in graphic design, as well as significant experience in design and art direction of projects within a branded environment. Your project management experience will need to be excellent as well as your design expertise in digital and print. Your communicaton style will be exemplary which will essential in delivering project briefs and ideation. Your organisation skills and collaborative style will also need to be excellent.

Whilst not essential, a genuine interest in crafts and the ability to speak French will both be helpful.
