Job Description

Parkview is an independent creative studio. We call ourselves a creative studio because we’re neither an advertising agency or a production company - we sit somewhere in the middle.

We’re a tiny but mighty team and with our incredible network of strategists, marketeers and creatives we scale up and down to suit the needs of each project. We launched just before the pandemic - not great timing, but we found our feet making mini docs for the NHS and the Dept. of Health and Social Care. Healthcare and the charity sector remain a key focus for us however our client base has expanded to include the likes of L’Oreal, LVMH, Apollo, British Vogue and Universal Music.

We’re a female led team and put a huge amount of emphasis on diversity and inclusion. We try to hire women in typically male roles and make sure that every production feels representative of the vibrant, cosmopolitan city that we live in.

Our founder started her career as a photographer and so creative excellence and the love of making is really what drives the business forwards. Without a structured agency background our approach is more often ‘what’s best for the project’. No convoluted hierarchies, no gatekeepers, no money wasted on unnecessary processes.

We are currently a full time team of three - although we are extraordinarily efficient it’s time to share the load as we move into bigger and more complex projects in 2024. Joining at such an early stage in the company means you will play a big part in shaping how we build and grow moving forwards.

Our new hire needs to be all of the standard keywords; organised, motivated, have attention to detail and so on. That really goes without saying. Moreover you need to have a positive outlook (even at 5am or some other ungodly call time), have a cool head and be able to find obscure workarounds when things don’t quite go to plan. You need to thrive when given autonomy, have a list of pro active jobs which can be done on the down days and be the sort of person who offers to make a coffee for the runner.

As we are such a small team we often find ourselves wearing many hats and you will too. Below is a list of basic requirements and responsibilities. We’re also keen to understand which areas you might want to gain more experience in or if there are things missing here that you might be able to bring to the table.

This position would be suited to midweight candidate or ambitious junior who is ready to hit the ground running. Salary negotiations will be dependent on experience.

Key responsibilities;

Support with daily prep and pre-production on projects in the UK and overseas; budgeting, hiring crew, scheduling, RAMS, permits, logistics and so on. We are looking for a candidate who is fluent in all of the above and has worked on a range of productions in a variety of environments. Large scale productions and big budgets are impressive but often delivering a lot with relatively little is harder.

Support with post production, managing edit timelines, reviewing deliverables, managing client feedback. Making sure any necessary tracking documents are updated and so forth. In a social first world there are often large amounts of deliverables for different platforms so having a good, efficient workflow is important.

Comfortable reviewing/reworking APA contracts for different types of creative partnerships and projects. Our commissions come in lots of different shapes and sizes; some via agencies, with PR teams, some direct to brand or individual, some via tender - there needs to be a watertight contract for all of them. Detail is key.

Maintaining good client relationships; being attentive, being generous but knowing when things simply aren’t possible. Our client relationships are paramount and so being a good communicator is essential.

Our extended team/crew are incredibly important to us and form a huge part of the client experience. It’s important that you know how to build a shoot which works for the crew, how to negotiate rates fairly and find happy compromises where needed.

There are social deliverables with almost every project and so an understanding of how the different platforms work and differ is a big one.

You may be asked to lead small scale projects where a full production team isn’t required, taking on the role of a PD where interviews or contributor voices are needed.

Involvement in the creative development of projects; researching the competitor landscape, image research, finding references, scouting for lead creative talent and so on.

Have a black book of people you’ve worked with and trust, along with a wishlist of people you think are incredible and would love to work with in future.

Be open to doing the odd late/early shift in order to deliver. Work/life balance is essential but occasionally you’ll be required to go the extra mile (and get that mile back in lieu).

Would be super handy but not essential;

Experience using Adobe suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Indesign)

Drivers licence

Experience using Google Drive (docs, sheets, slides)

Additional details;

Work from home with weekly team meet ups (London)

Working hours are 9:30 - 18:00 with flex where needed

Period policy

Holiday allowance of 28 days including bank holidays. In addition the office is closed between Christmas and New Year without impacting your holiday quota.
