We are looking for a London based Senior Production Manager who can bring experience and qualities to enhance our already talented team working efficiently across multiple projects.
Overview
• Generally assigned to the larger sized projects within the company to work alongside the Senior Project Managers from brief to on site execution
• The planning, execution, and closing of any production elements of a project from initial brief to execution on site
• Production ownership of each project from a production perspective
• Responsibility for maintaining and development of supplier relationships
• Managing the scope of production through the triple constraints of cost, time, and quality
• Full responsibility of production costs associated to projects and timely processing of suppliers invoices through the project team
• Contracting and managing appropriate external suppliers
• Maintaining high production management standards
• Leadership of the more junior production team members, assisting them with their projects and giving them direction when assisting on your projects (where applicable)
• Mentoring and management of junior members of staff (where applicable)
Technical and Creative
• Possess a senior level of production insight and knowledge to collaborate on creative ideas and treatments with the design team
• Participate in team creative brainstorms advising on production execution solutions
• Come prepared with solutions and ideas to help push and develop production capabilities
• In depth knowledge of material, AV, technical advances and nuances to help make our events unique
• In depth knowledge of current H&S guidance including Covid restrictions and the partners to use to advise and assist
• Able to read and interrogate CAD drawings – including floor plans and build drawings
• Knowledge of dimension conversions and international production nuances
Production Management
• Ensures standard agency policies and procedures are kept throughout the account
• Managing production workflow of projects
• Taking the lead in client calls when it comes to discussing production specifics and ensuring all parties are kept up to date with production progress and status
• Working with and managing the production teams, external suppliers, contractors, and freelancers to ensure that deadlines are achieved, and the client brief is met
• On-site management for events, installations, and de-rigs. Including management of 3rd party suppliers/ event staff
• Manage the H&S process in terms of collating supplier information and contracting H&S specialists if needed
• Ownership of production documentation from schedules to RAMs
• Detailed – it’s all in the detail – production schedules, trucking schedules, crew schedules, supplier briefs
• Thorough understanding of various event projects and the different processes and procedures involved ie live stream, festival, party, summit, conference, pop-up
Commercially Minded
• Cross quote and interrogate supplier quotes
• Read supplier quotes and suggest savings and efficiencies where possible
• Able to help project managers ballpark budgets using historical data and knowledge
• Manage payment terms and cash flow effectively across projects
• Negotiate rebates across core supplier relationships to create effective project costing
• Understand and drive cost savings to continually improve on GP
Team Communication
• Update all stakeholders regularly through clear and concise communication
• Mentor and guide other team members through production knowledge and procedures to help grown the business skillset
• Excellent management of job folders and site files
• Rapid, clear and coherent communication via email and other communication platforms to ensure knowledge is shared with wider teams
• Excellent supplier relationships an able to come armed with existing suppliers
Delivery
• Used to managing a site from load in, live to load out
• Ensure high standards of execution are met and not afraid to work through on-site issues and find solutions in real time
• Proven track record of working through production post an event from storage through to recycling and refuse
• Bonus: open to travel and experience of key international markets such as Cannes Lions, CES, Vidcon, MWC
Key Skills
• Creative head with an understanding of creative experiential events
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills when liaising with clients, suppliers and internally; has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in person, over the phone and via email, demonstrating diplomacy and good negotiation skills
• Excellent production planning and organising skills with use of standard production documentation and cloud computing
• Experience in line managing and mentoring a junior team
• Passionate, self-motivated with the ability to show initiative, willing to immerse themselves in the brands they work with
• Energetic, self-motivated, consistently proactive and showing initiative; able to manage their own time well
• Mac literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• A consistently calm and patient approach, able to remain organised and positive when dealing with multiple requests
Experience required:
*6 years+ experience as a Production Manager delivering projects from £1 million plus
*2 years+ as senior manager
*Proven supplier management, budget creation assistance & management through to onsite delivery.
This is an office-based role that will require you to spend time in meetings and briefings, as well as staying in close contact with clients. It can be demanding, but very rewarding! Working hours will be standard office times; however, deadlines and installations may stretch this further.
