The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Digital Content Creator to work across some of the biggest programmes in television. The role will involve creating engaging digital content for YouTube, Facebook and the wider social media landscape.

As part of the growing Digital Content team in ITV Studios, the day-to-day role will involve overseeing the publication of social video content for ITV Studios’ portfolio of digital and social media channels.The role will involve distributing long-form documentary and factual programmes from ITV Studios’ extensive archive.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a content creation and YouTube channel management background, with strong copywriting skills, who is also creative and has a genuine passion for television. You will know how to engage and interact with online communities and be able to create highly engaging digital content in a fast paced environment.

This role is integral to increasing ITV’s exposure across YouTube, social media and the global AVOD market, so having a keen interest in these areas would be highly beneficial.

There is a possibility of working outside of normal working hours (9-5), due to YouTube and social media being an ‘always-on’ area of activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm on new categories and themes for repackaged content
  • Data-driven content creation
  • Edit short-, mid- and long-form videos and social media content
  • Design video thumbnails and social media posts
  • Write SEO-friendly metadata
  • Channel management on various social media platforms
  • Analyse channel performance to optimise channel and content
  • Channel moderation: engage with a global audience

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • You will have extensive experience professionally managing YouTube and social media accounts.
  • You will have extensive video editing experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop)
  • Previous experience working at a media/broadcast publisher
  • Experience creating social video content in a variety of formats (Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Experience creating engaging thumbnails using graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom etc).
  • Ability to monitor social media reporting and analytics tools to measure performance and to further inform and steer the content strategy

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

  • Strong communication skills – written and verbally
  • Ideally you will have copywriting experience
  • Excellent planner with strong time management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with key ITV stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for non-scripted and factual TV content and the ability to talk passionately about it
  • Confident in presenting ideas and have a positive approach to challenges and opportunities.
  • An in-depth knowledge of YouTube and social media platforms, their features and how to build digital communities.
