Job Description

About the role

We’re looking for a Community & Social Coordinator to help us tell the stories of our graduates and creative community consistently, clearly and humanly across social media, email and web.

This role is ideal for someone early in their marketing or communications career who enjoys being close to the work. You're confident talking to people, organised in your approach and excited by design, creativity and creative education.

You'll spend your time planning and publishing content, engaging with our graduates, keeping channels active and helping us show the real outcomes of our courses to prospective students. This role directly supports enrolments by spotlighting graduate journeys, student work and community culture.

This isn't a senior or strategic position. We are looking for someone reliable, proactive and hands-on, who enjoys momentum, collaboration and making things happen.

---

What you’ll do

Graduate & Community Storytelling

  • Work closely with graduates, students and our lead teaching team to source stories, projects and outcomes
  • Shape real experiences into engaging social and email content
  • Help showcase the culture, community and impact of our courses

Social Media Coordination

  • Plan, schedule and publish content across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and other platforms
  • Manage day-to-day channel activity and audience engagement
  • Represent the brand confidently, warmly and professionally in public conversations

Email & Website Support

  • Support email campaigns and mailing lists
  • Keep website content accurate and up to date using our CMS
  • Apply basic SEO and GEO tagging to content

Content Organisation & Momentum

  • Maintain content calendars and publishing schedules
  • Coordinate assets, captions and posting across channels
  • Support campaign activity around course intakes, events and announcements

---

This role is a good fit if you…

  • Have entry-level experience in marketing, communications or content
  • Have experience in Adobe CC and/or Figma
  • Are confident talking to people and helping them share their stories
  • Are organised, proactive and comfortable juggling small tasks
  • Are interested in design, creativity and creative careers
  • Enjoy working across social, email and web without needing to be a specialist
  • Want to learn, grow and build practical experience in a creative environment

We're not looking for a strategist or a people manager. We're looking for someone switched on, dependable and excited to do the work.

---

Contract & rate

  • Self-employed contractor
  • 3–5 days per week
  • Day rate equivalent of £130–£145

---

Training & development

As part of the contract, you will be offered free study on our Motion for Graphic Designers course.

This is about upskilling. You'll build confidence working with motion and animated content, understand how motion supports storytelling and collaborate more closely with the creative team as our marketing continues to evolve.

---

Why this role matters

The stories you help tell will shape how people understand Shillington and what they believe is possible for themselves.

You'll work closely with graduates, students and teachers, turning real experiences into content that inspires trust and curiosity. Alongside this, you will build practical skills, confidence and momentum in a role that values learning, collaboration and creative impact.
