Part time 14.5 hours per week- 2 Days per week.

At UCA we are looking to grow our family of technicians and are seeking a Technician in Digital Print.
You will be responsible for the equipment and managing daily enquiries from students and staff which includes technical support across a range of equipment such as: Large-format printing, vinyl cutting, dry mounting, perfect binding and flatbed scanning.
Experience of large/small format printers including troubleshooting the equipment is essential.
You will be supporting students with their digital files in preparation for print, including design and layouts for booklets and magazines.
You will need a high level of experience and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat. Experience in visual communication is advantageous, alongside a confident use of MS Office and general IT skills.
Working with the screen print studio, you will assist with the preparation of vector/outline files and half-tone images for film positives using specialist RIP software.
The digital print studio is an environment where students learn specific digital processes unlike a print bureau. You will work closely with students and courses and be required to undertake group demonstrations such as digital printing, perfect binding, vinyl cutting and a heat press.
As well as working as part of a team you must have the ability to work independently and under pressure. Dealing with students and staff in a calm, clear and concise manner is essential.
Actual salary for this part time post is £10,296 - £11,191 per annum.
