Job Description

We are a growing UX/UI and web development agency, based Central London - with clients across the UK and USA.

Primarily we partner with some of the most exciting creative, branding and communications agencies, providing best-in-class UX/UI and web development . However as we have grown, we are increasingly winning our own standalone clients in sectors as varied as tech, hospitality and creative services.

We are a team of 15 now, across Production, Design and Development, and we are a remote-first company - the team is scattered across the UK and USA and there is no requirement to come to the office (but we have a cosy space in Somerset House for those that want to work from the office).

In addition, we are excited to explore to new modes of working post-pandemic - for instance, we are currently deep in internal exploration of joining the 4-day work week experiment (work 32 hours, paid for 40)

Key Roles

One of the greatest challenges for the agency is that our client relationships are too transactional.

Typically people hire us to do Prioject X, we do X well, they pay us for X - and hopefully X leads to Project Y - however there is rarely much “love” in that process as Production and our founder are so busy.

You won’t have to worry about project management or coming up with technical or creative strategy in response to briefs- instead we need you to be a sparkling, charismatic, interested and interesting individual that show our clients the care and attention that they deserve.

As a rule, communication is terrible in web development in general and we won’t lie, it is a challenge for us as well. We hope you will be able to help us “bridge that gap” with the accounts you manage.

There is absolutely also an entrepreneurial aspect to this role. We’d love for you to find ways to impress and wow our existing clients, and start great relationships with new ones - whether thats through organising talks, events, free training from our founder, etc, etc.

You will be the first port of call for new briefs from the accounts you manage, and working with the Production, Creative and/or Technical Strategy teams to respond to them in a timely manner. Once briefs have been won, you will also work with different teams to pull together a formal scoping document, ready for handover to a Producer to manage.

You will report to the founder, Ben Lattimore, who has led on business development since founding the agency in 2018 (after being a freelance web developer for 5 years before, and before that, working in PR)

Happily you will inherit a process-driven “lead generation” system and proto-team already in place. We are also merging all our past CRM attempts into Hubspot so you should have a rich dataset to explore as well.

About You

You will be a confident communicator who enjoys the process of developing new relationships and finding ways to maintain and building existing relationships

- You should be a fun, engaging and friendly presence (who impresses with your hard-work and diligence too) - even when the going gets tough

- As mentioned above, communication in our space is constantly an issue so we hope you will help be a salve to that - and we’d love you to bring your own ideas

You should have a genuine passion for design and tech - maybe you have dabbled with some HTML/CSS before, or fired up Canva for a personal project, or just love the Design Museum - it’s all great and will help you in the role.

It is not vital that you have agency experience - maybe you did account management in some other B2B setting and always wanted to work somewhere more tech-y and creative.

Location

With many of our clients in London, the ability to easily get to London when required for meetings (say, 1-2 times a week) is important. However we are a remote-first company with no requirement to be in the office at all (many of the team is well outside London) so don’t feel like you have to be based in London to apply 🙂

In addition, the USA is a major market for us so if you come across this advert and are in the USA, we would encourage to apply as well - we aim to launch our US office very soon.

Your Future

We have doubled in-size every year since we started in 2018, and now half our revenues come from the USA. Our clients have ranged from 1-2 person studios to 30-person agencies, and from small tech startups to global fashion houses.

You will get exposure to all sizes and shapes of clients here and as we grow, we hope you can continue to grow with us. For instance, you might enjoy the nimbleness and encompassing relationships of a number of small clients, or you might grow to enjoy building close 1-1 relationships with senior stakeholders at larger clients - both, either, some combination is great by us.

We’re passionate about career growth and believe that everyone should be looking to “shake things up” every 18-36 months - we hope you’ll grow as we grow, and maybe you’ll take us into new, exciting directions. For instance:

- Maybe you want to focus on a new niche and build the business there

- Maybe you want to try your hand at Production for a while

- Maybe you love what you do but you want to take a greater hand in the management and development of junior team members

- Maybe you’ve had a killer idea and we’re just the team to support you in bringing it to fruition…

What You Get

- £30k-35k per year

- Remote-first

- You can use your own technology or receive a company Macbook Air - your preference
