Job Description
OVERVIEW:
As Chapel’s Creative Director your focus will be on leading and motivating the creative team, fostering a collaborative environment, guiding the visual and strategic direction for all our clients, ensuring creative excellence and project success, while also building client relationships and pitching new business.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creative Direction & Strategic Vision:
- Develop and implement the creative vision for all projects and campaigns, across all Chapel’s clients, ensuring briefs are consistently delivered with excellence.
- Have a full understanding of each individual client’s brand guidelines, tone of voice and products, offering creative and strategic solutions to answer briefs, as well as proposing alternative ideas that align with a creative vision and brand standards.
- Translate complex briefs and ideas into compelling and innovative creative concepts, as well as leading on new business pitches.
- Have a holistic understanding of the entire creative process, recognising standout ideas.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in creative fields.
- Play an active part in representing Chapel externally, be it LinkedIn, industry networking events, or design panels.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, inspire and guide a team of up to 12 creatives currently (design, motion, strategy & copy) to ensure they achieve their best work, whilst also fostering their personal growth and development.
- Helping the creative team overcome obstacles and working closely with other senior members of the team to offer creative solutions, ensuring a positive and productive workplace at all times.
- Be responsible for fostering and maintaining a collaborative and creative environment, setting a positive and motivating tone.
- Manage a team of full time employees, whilst actively building a freelance network and nurturing all relationships.
- Effectively communicate with Senior Management, attend key leadership meetings, and present solutions to drive agency growth and align to agency goals.
Project Management:
- Working closely with the Client Services team to ensure projects are answering briefs, meeting timelines and running efficiently within budget.
- The ability to manage resources, including creative talent, technology, and production capabilities. You will be confident and comfortable managing freelance and full-time staff.
- Oversee the entire creative process, from concept development to final execution.
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations that effectively convey creative concepts and ideas to key stakeholders.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and goals.
- Present creative ideas and proposals to clients, securing their buy-in and approval.
- Manage client expectations and ensure creative deliverables meet their needs.
KEY SKILLS:
- Maintain a high degree of craft and attention to detail in all creative work
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire a creative team
- Self-starter who can work independently to solve complex problems
- Methodical and proactive approach to management
- A sensitivity towards client/collaborator engagement
- Confidence to present ideas clearly and concisely in/externally
- Ability to multi-task within a fastpaced environment
- Show initiative and decisiveness under pressure
- Highly adaptable when faced with challenging situations
- Review and approve creative content, ensuring it meets quality standards and brand guidelines
- Ensure creative consistency across all channels, including digital, print, social media, and in-person experiences, whilst pushing boundaries
- Strong understanding of the creative industries, including advertising, marketing, and design
- Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite of tools, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and AfterEffects
