Job Description

The V&A’s Marketing Department is responsible for building the V&A brand and nurturing audience relationships across the UK and globally. With a fully integrated approach to all aspects of marketing, insight and audience engagement, the team leads the V&A’s high-profile cross-channel marketing campaigns and partnerships, as well as CRM, visitor acquisition and retention for the V&A’s family of sites.

V&A East is one of the world’s most significant new museum projects. With a unique and inspiring mission to make arts accessible to all, this is an incredible opportunity to shape the launch of the two new V&A sites: V&A East Museum and V&A East Storehouse. Currently under construction in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, these major projects are part of the Mayor of London's £1.1 billion Olympic legacy project, which will create a new arts, innovation and education hub in East London and offer unprecedented public access to V&A collections as well as a social creative space for the local community.

The Senior Brand & Campaigns Manager, V&A East will drive brand development for V&A East, and shape and deliver the launch marketing strategy and campaign for V&A East Storehouse (launching 2024) and V&A East Museum (launching 2025). This role sits within the Marketing team but will also be an integral part of the V&A East project team based in Stratford.

V&A East has ambitious audience targets, and this role will be central to shaping a marketing approach that delivers an audience make-up that is radically different from the norm in London’s museum community.

Like all V&A sites, V&A East will appeal to a wide and diverse audience, but it also has a specific purpose to super-serve young audiences (16-35s) and be a civic space for our 4 host boroughs (Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, and Waltham Forest). At V&A East we want our audience to be a mirror of the diverse communities that we are part of, we want to welcome everyone from our local boroughs as a place to meet, experience our collections and programming, and be a destination for the student community at East Bank and London, as a gateway to the creative industries for Gen Z and upcoming Gen Alpha.

This unique role will work collaboratively across teams in Marketing, Digital and Publishing, Communications, Visitor Experience, Design, Curatorial, Interpretation and Community Outreach to shape new relationships with new visitors in-person and online.
