Job Description

How&How are seeking a full-time Brand Strategist to join our growing global family in London or Lisbon. You will be a thinker and doer who’ll translate data and the world around you into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for our creative team and our clients.

You will be a team player who is generous with ideas, and has strong beliefs — loosely held.

You will have experience in understanding different types of business models and challenges, doing desk research and analysing large amounts of content to develop cut-through insights, and connecting these insights to clients’ business and brand opportunities. You will leverage a background in branding design to inform brand strategy for clients and work alongside How&How’s design and marketing team to review data, conduct analysis, uncover insights and prepare a coherent and persuasive point-of-view and brand story.

Topline: a natural wordsmith who can apply analytical rigour, critical thinking, and creativity to solve complex brand and marketing issues. You’ll create lasting impact by demonstrating industry-leading thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and restless intellectual curiosity in your everyday work.

What we’re after:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 4+ years experience in brand, advertising, digital or management consultant agencies

  • Proven critical thinking, content synthesis and research skills

  • Exceptional communication, writing, analysis and organisational skills

  • Familiar with brand strategy, brand naming, positioning, brand stories, product and portfolio architecture, creative briefing, campaign messaging and design principles

  • Has high standards for work and impeccable attention to detail

  • Ability to influence and inspire others with a strong bias for “why not?” to “why?”

  • Open-minded, inherently curious, and willing to share fresh perspectives in solving problems

  • Knows the big picture, thinks about the present and the future; explores and presents possibilities

  • Elevated sense of design, colour and aesthetic

  • Keeps finger on the pulse of trends, design and technology

Job requirements

What you’ll do:

  • Work alongside Creative and Strategy Directors to shape brand strategies and systems from the ground up

  • Frame insights in clear language and craft compelling stories

  • Support and partner with others to create thought leadership, frameworks, and processes

  • Structure, analyse, and synthesise primary and secondary research to generate actionable insights

  • Provide a clear assessment of the future relationship between the client and their consumers

  • Researches the client's business context and understand the client's decision criteria

  • Be able to start positioning, brand architecture and tone-of-voice hypotheses

What we offer:

  • Salary of £60,000 (London) or €63,000 (Lisbon)

  • 9 Day Fortnight with every other Friday off

  • 28 Day additional Holiday allocation (including Bank Holidays)

  • Pro Bono Environmental Studio Projects

  • Transparent Tiered Salary System

  • Quarterly Reviews with Bonus Opportunities

  • Resident Second Home Membership with permanent desk in Lisbon / London / Hollywood with all the perks

  • 2 x 2 Week Remote Working Opportunities (timezone dependent)

  • We’re currently working towards B-Corp Status and hope to complete in late 2022 / early 2023
