Job Description

ACCOUNT MANAGER at MODERN DESIGNERS

We’re looking for a talented account manager to join our growing team - someone who understands brands, appreciates good design, and is curious, driven and ambitious.

ABOUT YOU

The right person for this role will have at least 3 years’ experience in a project, production, marketing or account management role. You’ll be an excellent communicator, organised and process-driven, confidently liaising between our clients and our creative team. You’ll know how to make a project run well and will be adept at setting and managing schedules and budgets.

With the support of our Senior Account Manager, Senior Designer and Managing Director, this role will see you become part of a fast-growing brand studio. And, with a personalised development plan, it's a chance to accelerate a career in client services. As such, we’re looking for someone who is keen to grow with us – and this role is as much about attitude as it is experience. If you’re a fast learner, driven and ambitious, we’d love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and projects, with the support of the wider accounts team.
  • Good project management, ensuring projects follow our processes, setting and managing detailed project plans and budgets, scheduling and tracking time and costs on projects, and avoiding project creep.
  • Briefing projects to the studio, setting client/project KPIs.
  • Good client management, including setting up regular client meetings/communications, providing regular project updates, and helping spot/resolve client/project issues before or as they arise.
  • Working with clients, creatives, digital agencies and our accounts team to deliver client brand and marketing campaigns.
  • Liaising between clients, our creative, strategy, and studio management teams, and third parties (suppliers, other agencies).
  • Booking and managing suppliers and external resources.
  • Building relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Good commercial acumen: assisting with quoting for new work, and invoicing.

Key skills and experience

  • Account management / project management / marketing management experience (min. 3 years).
  • Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, workflow and budget management.
  • An interest in branding, advertising, digital campaigns, design or marketing.
  • Experience of using online project management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ideally, experience of working with clients/colleagues to deliver digital/marketing campaigns.

ABOUT US

We are a growing brand studio working with clients across the UK, working on projects that range from flagship placemaking, workspace and residential schemes to award-winning brands for arts organisations and charities, via tech start-ups, law firms, global travel brands, and the world’s leading universities. We create beautiful, crafted brands for clients who share our world view – who set out to make a positive difference to people, communities and the sectors within which they work.

As a studio we take a considered approach to everything we work on. We’re committed to design thinking – research, strategy, creative problem-solving – and to setting new standards for how brands should look, feel, and behave.

What you’ll get from us

  • A close-knit, friendly and collaborative team.
  • A recently refurbished, pet-friendly studio in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
  • Flexible working options, with family friendly/caring responsibility policies.
  • Hybrid working as standard.
  • Wellbeing focus: an Employee Assistance Programme that offers accredited, confidential and tailored mental, physical and financial health support 24/7.
  • Autonomy and the freedom to make the role your own.
  • A supportive environment that will help you grow, via a personalised development plan, including dedicated time during working hours to access training, talks and workshops.
  • The chance to work on amazing creative projects from start to finish, and to work with some of the best organisations in the world.
  • A competitive salary, with annual bonus.
  • 22 days’ holiday + Bank Holidays + 1 extra day per year of service.
  • Additional holiday time during our Christmas closure (not deducted from your holiday allowance).
  • Paid team activities: meals out, design events and festivals, speaking opportunities and more.
  • Company pension scheme.
