Lead Social and Content Producer
Location: London (Hybrid – 3/2 days in-office preferred)
Contract: 3 months initially, with potential for extension. Open to full-time, part-time and job-sharing applications.

Absurd Intelligence is hiring a creative, hands-on Social & Content Lead to take the reins on all things social for our two major projects: Speak Up and The Fête of Britain. This is a hybrid role combining community management, content production, and strategic social media storytelling, perfect for someone who can move between shaping narratives and making great content.
You’ll lead the voice of our social channels, build communities around our speakers and events, and bring a bold visual identity to life across Instagram, LinkedIn, and beyond.

Founded by the creative minds behind Extinction Rebellion, Absurd Intelligence is a disruptive communications lab working at the intersection of culture, climate, and democracy. We convene world-class thinkers and doers to change the narrative and spark social change.
Our main focuses recently are The Fête of Britain is a rolling four-year festival blending culture and activism, from music and sewing circles to assemblies and citizen action. And, Speak Up is a new kind of speaker agency amplifying voices on democracy, climate, the economy, and misinformation.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Community
- Develop and manage a content calendar across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Twitter/X.
- Write captions and post copies that reflect the voice and mission of each project.
- Build and manage online communities: respond to DMs and comments, spark conversations, and cultivate a responsive community.
- Track engagement, growth and content performance; provide light reporting monthly.
- Monitor trends and cultural moments to inform real-time content and community strategy.
- Collaborate with speakers, partners and the internal team to amplify events and campaigns.
Content Creation & Production
- Design and produce engaging content: static posts, carousels, stories, short-form videos (Reels/TikTok), speaker clips, and event content.
- Edit footage from live events, talks, and workshops into short, shareable clips.
- Ensure brand tone and visual consistency across all platforms.
- Use tools like Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or Premiere Pro to create and edit content.
- Support small-scale paid campaigns and boosted content as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills for social media.
- Proven experience managing and growing branded or campaign social media accounts.
- Strong design experience and confidence in design and video editing tools (Adobe Suite, CapCut, etc).
- Solid understanding of content formats across Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts and others.
- An eye for visual storytelling and a feel for what resonates in different online spaces.
- Experience building community and fostering engagement.
- A data-informed mindset, you’re not afraid to dive into metrics to improve reach or engagement.
- Self driven and comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with (or deep interest in) culture, climate, and social impact.
