Blink Productions (blinkprods.com), the highly awarded commercial production company, is seeking an outgoing, hard working & ambitious Director’s Assistant to support all directors on the roster throughout various projects (with a primary focus on commercial work).

The Director’s Assistant will work closely with the in-house team at Blink and their roster of directors.

It is necessary that they have a keen eye for filmmaking, an interest in the advertising landscape, film, art, music and television.

This role is primarily for anyone looking to get into direction but ability to do picture research and treatment design is an essential part of the role. It is perfect training ground and experience for someone recently out of university who has made a few films of their own or has ambition to be a director.

Responsibilities:

• The job is mainly focused on the pitching process alongside director’s on upcoming commercial projects. This includes:

• Reading new agency scripts in depth and discussing with EPs / Directors

• Image researching, creating gifs and mood films

• Designing the layout of treatments

• Booking any additional creative researchers needed for other jobs

Other Responsibilities:

• Being on set with directors and, depending on the project, directing 2nd unit / additional visuals as needed

• Assisting production and directors on creating creative lead documents

• For larger scale projects potentially casting extras / small roles or cutting down to selects based off of director’s brief

• Assisting directors in brainstorming ideas and creating tests

Requirements:

• An understanding of InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro

• A deep rooted interest in film, television, photography and graphic design

• A desire to learn all aspects of the trade of directing

• Good vibes and a top notch sense of humour
