The Company

The Village People pub group was established in 2022. Managing Director Clement Ogbonnaya is passionate about pubs, has extensive knowledge in hospitality and has a keen interest in giving back to the community.

Clement, born in Nigeria and raised in Peckham, opened his first pub, Prince of Peckham in 2017. It was an instant success, meaning that just 5 years later, he was able to open a second site in Tulse Hill, Queen of the South.

The Role

The Promotions Manager is responsible for the events, promotions and marketing function of both Prince of Peckham and Queen of the South pubs. You will be leading a team made up of Events and Promotions Assistants, a Bookings Manager and Bookings Assistant and a Social Media Manager. You will program all activity across the company’s two pubs, as well as set each venue’s marketing strategy. You will work closely with the owner of the business to programme each pub, as well as working with the General Managers at each site to ensure the smooth running of events.

Responsibilities

  • Creating & delivering a schedule of regular and one off events at both Queen of the South and Prince of Peckham, with events being booked in three months in advance.
  • Managing the social media strategy across the group, for all major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tik Tok.
  • Ensuring daily stories & content are posted across all the venue’s social media i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok.
  • Develop strategies to promote events, offerings, DJs and private hire, with the aim to increase revenue and visibility of each site.
  • Arranging for the production and delivery of a weekly Mailout.
  • Acting as a point of contact between the Promotions Team and the Operations Team, ensuring event briefs are produced and distributed in advance of each event.
  • Producing a weekly digital marketing report.
  • Producing detailed events reviews (including financial) for each event.
  • Research future events/collaborators.
  • Meeting marketing needs required for each event.
  • Ensuring staff are knowledgeable about our current & upcoming events.
  • Reviewing current events & making improvements where necessary.
  • Writing press releases for key events.
  • Researching marketing channels to ensure our events are promoted extensively.
  • Being knowledgeable & up to date about other events that are engaging, creative & community-centred.
  • Organising photography/videography for events.
  • Constantly outreaching to new artists & organisations within our community.
  • Ensuring collaborators have been invoiced & paid.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years promotions experience in live music and booking DJs within a hospitality setting.
