Job Description
CONNECT Care is looking for a technically inclined UX/UI Designer to join as one of our founding team members where you will be working closely with our Technical Lead, Tiago Relvao, and Co-Founder & Product Lead, Mehfuz Dasu Patel, to understand our users' needs and define our product design.
The way medicines are managed and understood is broken -- CONNECT is on a mission to fix that. Using data-driven insights, we empower patients to take the right medication at the right time and enable carers and clinicians to optimise their patients’ treatment regimes.
We understand that to successfully achieve our mission, our user experience must be thoughtful, well-executed, and at the core of our technical development. That’s why we want to make sure that one of our first recruits is a Designer and are offering a competitive salary of up to £70k/year - aligned with our Engineers.
We’re using a component-based design system and need interfaces to be efficient to build and easy-to-use -- simplicity is key. Aesthetics matter, but accessibility is something we care about deeply -- understanding this is important for you to be successful in this role. We don't need you to be an expert from the onset as long as you care enough to learn with us.
In this role, you will have ownership over the front-end. We’d expect most high fidelity design to be done using the real interface and the components from the design system so we think that previous experience in building web applications will make you more effective in this role -- however this is not essential, as long as you are willing to learn. You'll be working alongside our Tech Lead and an incoming team of 2 Snr and 2 Jnr Javascript engineers so you’ll get plenty of support and encouragement. You can, of course, work on wireframes and concepts using tools such as Figma.
To inform your design work you’ll be heavily involved in project scoping and stakeholder engagement -- meeting and interviewing industry leaders, patients, partners and customers; this will allow you to define user stories, conduct user testing, and maintain a continuous feedback loop.
If you are interested in building an essential product and making a difference through your work, this is a great opportunity to join a young but well-funded startup, joining a team with deep expertise at the intersection of digital health, pharmacy, and social care. It’s also a chance to work with a clean slate and build a truly unique and user-led product.
