Job Description

One role has become available within the Mixmag video team. As part of this team you will work across a variety of different video projects from animating and editing, shooting and grading a variety of content from live streams, to short form video, social cut downs to sizzle reels.

With over 1.5m YouTube subscribers, 2m facebook followers and 800k IG followers the content you help make will be viewed by millions of people.

The role will place you right in the epicentre of the music industry, whether that be working closely with artists, delivering branded content to a tight brief, and of course working closely with the journalists of the world’s longest standing and most respected dance music media brand.

Skills needed:

Animation:

- A good knowledge of After Effects and ideally other animation programs

- The ability to make simple yet effective text and intro animations for content strands

- The ability to create brand identities for different content strands

Editing:

- Extremely competent on Premiere Pro and after effects: ability to manage and organise multiple ongoing projects

- Understanding of narrative flow and ability to cater it to a brief

- Ability to turn edits around in a very quick time frame

- Edits will vary from short documentaries, to snappy behind the scenes to hour long live streams

Lighting:

- Excellent knowledge of how to creatively light interviews, greenscreens and real life situations

Cameras:

- Fully competent with an array of cameras and lenses (we currently use Sonys)

- Attention to the organisation and care of the camera kit

Grading:

- A knowledge and love of grading

Organisation:

- You will have multiple projects on the go across multiple disciplines. You may be grading in the morning, shooting in the afternoon, editing in the evening, so it’s important you are super organised with your files and projects

Endurance:

- Often gig shoots will finish in the early hours of the morning. Shoots may be at weekends or in evenings

Initiative:

- We appreciate that some of these areas may be stronger than others but will expect you to use your own initiative to consistently improve your skills in each area and see this reflected in the content that we make

Desirable but not essential skills:

- Drone license

- Driving license
