Job Description

Hi. We’re &Smith and we’re on the look out for a super talented Junior or Midweight Motion Designer to join our team. We’re initially looking for someone who is part-time freelance for 2 or 3 days a week, with a view to a potentially more permanent position in the future.

&Smith...

Every day we eat, drink and sleep with brands all over the world. Whether they’re a brand that needs creating, or a brand that needs more creativity, we’re always asking ourselves – ‘What if?’ What if there’s a stone unturned? What if there’s more magic and less logic? What if the ordinary could be extra-ordinary?

What if we could work with you?

——

Some detail…

– Eating. Drinking. Sleeping. Branding. That’s our thing. We need you to have a good amount of experience in our specialist areas and love them as much as we do.

– We’re currently a team of 5 designers and thinkers with a wider team of strategists, copywriters, developers, illustrators, photographers and videographers that we call upon depending on the needs of the project.

– Your role will involve working with our design team to create 2D motion graphics and video edits for our clients and our own portfolio, website and social media.

– As you’ll be working on a wide range of projects, we’re looking for someone with at least 3 years experience in the industry.

– You’ll excel in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere, as well as the other Adobe Creative Cloud applications needed to aid the creation of motion design, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Additional knowledge of 3D design, as well as tools and plugins that complement the core software suite and enhance efficiency are also a plus.

– You’ll be working collaboratively on multiple projects with both our Creative Partners (owners) and our team of designers.

– Creativity and ideas are a big part of what we do and needs to be a big part of your portfolio too. In your portfolio we want to see how you can turn conceptual ideas into beautiful and compelling video, motion graphics and animation content.

– You’ll need to show you have a decent understanding across all our day-to-day activities. That's usually a mix of branding concepts and strategy, visual identity, packaging, brand experience ideas, print and digital design implementation, web design, photoshoots and brand film.

– On the practical side, you’ll need to be able to manage your motion projects, keep track of feedback, revisions and project communications.

– The role will be hybrid working, with 1 day a week in London and the rest remote. &Smith have flexitime hours.

Good Ideas...

And when we say good ideas are available to all – we mean it. Every year we work pro bono with a charity or social enterprise who could benefit from great creative.
